Fallout: New Vegas

OOh, I got an Anti-matter gun from Repconn Head Office, costed soo much to repair, but I managed to fix all my other weapons with spare ones so I only have 1-2 of each filling up my 'Gun Cupboard' in Novac.

you know you can repair the Q35 anti matter rifle with plasma rifle's

I managed to take out the legendary deathclaw this evening... Pretty tough beast on 'very hard'! In the end I used the sniper rifle with armour piercing rounds.

Took me a few goes to get him though... Even with the 5x critical chance multiplier you get from the sniper rifle (so 90% crit chance) it took a good 10 headshots to bring him down. It's a good job I had sneak skill at 100 or it would have been damn-near impossible! (short of setting up C4 traps I suppose).

Never killed an adult Deathclaw on my first play through, took out a couple of the youngsters though. The moment I detected the Mummy or Daddy I legged it, lol. Either never had the right weapon or simply wasn't powerful enough.

Oh!

I think I used my spare Plasma rifles on repairing other Plasma Rifles..oops :S

If you can get your repair skill to 90 you can take the Jury Rigging perk , which, quoting the fallout wiki, does...

"You possess the amazing ability to repair any item using a roughly similar item. Fix a trail carbine with a hunting rifle, a plasma defender with a laser pistol, or even power armor with metal armor. How does it work? Nobody knows…except you."

brilliant :D

i've got so many quests going on right now i dont know which to throw a stick at lol.

Just killed all the powder gangers at the NCR correctional facility. that'll teach em for breaking loose. scumbags. 1 shot kill even to the torso with the anti material rifle :D

Hehe, brilliant :)

I'll have to keep that in mind - trying desperately to finish the last Hoover Dam part, but it's very hard, I think I need to rethink my tactics. I did go through it a bit quickly (even though the game has taken me 65 hours so far!) and my Character wasn't the best build I could have had, so I would like to have a better go at it.

I found the most effective way of repairing weapons was with the sneak skill.

Take the weapons to Old Lady Gibson, pay her extortionate prices to have your weapons repaired, then pickpocket the money back off her.:D

I've kept saves from right after you meet a certain someone at the strip and after helping the Boomers and the Brotherhood especially and done most of the sidequests.

Since I'm only lvl 10 at the strip I can still start 'fresh' and develop the character how I want and also do all the endings without having to win over Boomers/Brotherhood again at lvl 28.

Just completed the game in Hardcore mode, it certainly was hard and I did leave a lot of holes on the game, so when I go through it again, now, I'll have a better idea of what my actions will do, so off to a fresh new start, so I don't make some of the same mistakes as last time! :)

possible spoiler:

was just in the tops casino lol. i blew benny's head clean off with an AM rifle, without speaking to him. that'll teach him for shooting me in the head and leaving me for dead. :D sucka.

oh, and for anyone that knows... should i kill house or not? i dont know what to do..

How did you manage to sneak an anti-materiel into the casino? I have 100 sneak skill, and the most I can smuggle through is a .44 magnum...

i had a little chat with my friend at the counter ;) i think his name is sw-ank or sw-anky. he let me take my weapons in because i told him stuff about benny lol. perched myself up on the second floor of the casino, took some meds to increase damage and damage resitance for when his goons came after me with silenced smgs :D it was epic! body parts everywhere lol. all that was left was a torso.
