For a while, yea. Then once you got used to it, your perception of normal performance adjusts and the 'omgwow' factor of it diminishes a tad as does your desire to spend every waking moment driving it.

So essentially if you want to enjoy it for as long as possible, it's a weekend car and you should drive something dull on the weekdays?

Also a problem with being young, and driving these types of cars early, means you need to upgrade to a better car to get the thrills again.. and then that will wear off and need a new car again.

At that rate you'd be looking at 911s by the time your 30-35. What do you upgrade to from that!

(had a few beers so i'm rabbitting!) :p

Ohh and I also seen a Passat CC the other day too and it looked bloody tremendous! :D

Thats actually a huge problem. Every car I drive now I find the build quality crappy. I can pretty much upgrade to an M5, or perhaps an M5. Great. It doesn't give you a huge amount of options and rules out millions of great cars which I now simply wouldnt ever want to own - Impreza, Focus ST, etc etc :(

i feel all left out, i never saw a Z4 today :(

saw a couple of M3's though, quite a few Audis, namely TT's, A4's and even another couple of A3 sportbacks (i love them) (funny how now i own one i see more of them than i ever did hehe).

As my mate said in 1997, having purchased a Sierra LX.

"Mate, I've got electric windows now..... I could never go back"

Steady on! I'm 3.5 years older than you :p

Well either way ive had 200bhp since i was 18 :p even this didnt feel like a massive upgrade performance wise.

EDIT: I'm not too bothered about more comfortable cars, this is more than good enough for that, i want quicker! so 5 series are useless bar the m5

I had a race with a 3.0 z4 last week, he must have been embarassed.

I was also sat behind a 520d estate this morning and saw a new m3 broken down at the side of the dual carriageway 2 weeks ago

Loads of cars embarass me. A Corsa embarassed me from the lights yesterday.

that is rather unfortunate, did he have a better power to weight ratio?
He probably put his rear seats down flat.

I get various cars trying to race me all the time. IT was fun when I first got the car but it has become tiresome now. If they give me the signal or rev their engine, I will rev the engine a few times. When the lights go green, they burn off into the distance in a pile of tyresmoke and I leisurely accelerate to 30mph or whatever.

I find this much more entertaining than racing.

He must have decided not to waste his time on a Polo more like :)

well I'm afraid he was risking his license trying and failing, I was actually surprised but a look at the power to weight ratio of them made it obvious why, they are damn heavy

It was more the overall package I was on about - I get into the Z4 even and some of the quality is a bit annoying.

The interior build quality is quite a bit off the mark compared the other cars in the range. Probably a mixture of trying to keep the weight and cost down whilst being screwed together in America.
