Far Cry 4 due this November

After installing on my main PC I thought I could just copy the installed files and Reg entries to my dvd driveless laptop and uplay would be fine...right? Wrong! Kept wanting me to download the entire game! Even though I also copied the entire game to the folder it was downloading to.

Hours of troubleshooting later I've given up and have decided to just make Iso's.

If I didn't hate uplay before I do now!
 
Everything Ultra for me and HBAO enabled too, works fine it seems. Pulling circa 45fps. No matter what is turned on or off though there is some mouse lag compared to other recent fps, Alien: Isolation, for example.

I'm playing a 3440x1440. Framerate seems the same with AF on or off (I use TXAA2x).

Game does look pretty glorious. The texture detail and AO is rather good. I wish you could skip cutscenes...


If anyone figures out how to remove the mouse lag that would be great but I have a feeling it's gonna stay as it was the same in FC3 too.
 
There is a guide (wiki I think) to do all that like skip cutscenes and claims to fix many issues inc mouse.

Is it worth the £38 or thereabouts "Rainforest" are asking for the boxed version, or better off waiting (hopefully) post Xmas price drop and a few bugfixes to work through?

Wait it out Vern1961 and save yourself £20 and the problems with the bugs.

What is your system spec?
 
Mouse acceleration fix
Go find your GamerProfile.xml file in documents/mygames/far cry 4 and find the lines that say UseMouseSmooth, Smoothness, and Smoothness_ironsights, set them all to zero.

Not tested myself, but it seems it does work according to most people.

Edit- actually it doesnt remove it, but lessens it to some degree, but a few people say it doesnt work, so i dont know.

I imagine you will be fine at higher settings but I have not observed CPU and GPU utilisation yet but on first impression it doesn’t feel like it’s taxing either of mine, the issue I have is more to do with mouse acceleration implementation even when it’s turned off in the UI lol. If mouse movement was more like Alien: Isolation (really excellent) then this would be brilliant. It’s most noticeable when using ironsights/aiming as it makes it hard to twitch headshot like I’m used to in other games.

Is your 780 a 3GB? At this res you "may" hit that limit but I need to observe VRAM usage during gameplay tonight!
