Far Cry 4 due this November

My 780 is running is with a mixture of the Nvidia Settings and some recommended ones from Total Biscuit, running at around 50-60fps on an Ultra/High mix, but that fps drop, stutter thing needs sorting, running around at 60 then bang 30 for a second then 60 again.

Reminds me of watchdogs when you were driving and then bang fps tanked.

So essentially then it's going to run like crap on my GTX670 2Gb?

My 970 is overclocked to almost 980 levels, and the FPS regularly dips to 30-40 randomly. Mostly when driving, but at other times too.

I'm enjoying the game, but I'm going to leave it for a week or two and see if the devs can be bothered to optimise it properly.

Check the settings I posted above, roughly equivalent to 760 in the table.

I'm going to give it a final bash tonight using those advised settings and installing to SSD. But so far, so stuttery!

Just did a little vid of performance with my settings on a 7950 crossfire disabled with the new possible stutter fix. It's just perfect when playing, no issues or drops under 60fps plus no stutter at all. Obviously with DXTory and youtube upload quality, gameplay is smoother than actually shown.

What stutter fixes did you use?

in the video descrip but basically Navigate to Documents/My Games/Far Cry 4/ and open GamerProfile.xml. CTRL+F and search for DisableLoadingMip0="0" change this value to "1" then save,

Got it running well on my rather old system with GTX580, mostly medium but with several on high, stuttered like crazy when I first started but second time I loaded the game it ran as smooth as butter , discovered the girocopters today & been buzzing round the radio towers to open up the map, I only managed to actually land on top of one right next to the radio but subsequent attempts ended in failure :p all in all a cracking good game with so much to do it's mind boggling, now got sniper rifle but want grenade launcher before I attempt more camps as they seem to have some kind of weapon they shoot at you that goes off like a firework with multiple small charges

The game plays a lot like FC3, same micro stuttering.

All IQ Maxed with 4x MSAA, 45 to 60 FPS with V-Sync on.

Will give that a go but TBH your Youtube looks just like the stuttering i get, its still there.

its perfect playing without DXTory running and recording plus the upload that gives it that appearance humbug. Honstely dude completely flawless with no stutter at all.

Some guy thought it would be luls to post a fake claim that the game only uses a single core when running. if you look at his screenshot he's basing his usage on a cutscene where only a single core would be utilised anyway, it's a cutscene!

I'm no Ubi fan myself but even I know when to reality check :p

I have an FX-8350, so far my overclocked 290 sticks to 100% usage.

so, as much as i dislike Ubi from what i have seen of this game so far is that CPU threading is well implemented.
