Far Cry 4 due this November

I went hiking in the Himalayas last Xmas. I didn't see much in the way of elephants, or vehicles either.

Gun-toting madmen, however. ..

True, but you have to run the Donkey gauntlet on the way down which involves trying not to let them push you off edge to your death. lol

Mind you, I did ride an Elephant at the bottom but that was in Chitwan. Was fun until we got off and followed some Rhino tracks...then the guide just said 'RUN'

He had ended up stumbling too close to it and it was a single male. I thought he'd seen a Tiger or something, absolutely papped myself.

Anyway...lol

I enjoyed FC3, but agree it was repetative (as are all games these days ) but I don't just want the same again. Hopefully they bring some new mechanics and features to change it up a bit.

I'm ignoring info on FC4, but based on FC3's plot I imagine it's a tale about investment bankers who are tragically stranded in the Hamptons when their 4 x 4 runs out of fuel half a mile from home, returning from an all night beach party.

Their iPhones all have flat batteries, the hired help have been given the day off to celebrate National Servitude Day in the Philippines, but the Markets open in less than two hours! How will they trade? The fate of their quarterly bonus depends on them being able to bump the price of corn and starve a few more Africans before brunch.

While the rest of their party stays with the vehicle, hoping to be able to survive for a whole hour on meagre supplies of champagne and caviar in their picnic hamper, the hero struggles to survive the perilous journey past residential compounds guarded by private security and highly suspicious of any peasant on foot.

Our hero stuggles on, getting his chinos stained and even stepping in dog dirt at one stage, resulting in him questioning the very fabric of his being. How can one so worthy be brought so low? And where is Miguel to take his pants to the dry cleaner and lick his shoes clean?

Did I ever tell you what the definition of insanity is? Insanity is buying exactly the same titles over and over again expecting things to change!

;-)

I may be being unfair, but after FC2 dropped the FC1 torch like a ton of bricks, then the totally unsympathetic frat boy scenario and "look at me, I'm a console game aimed at ten year old collectoholics" gameplay in 3 dashed my hopes of a return to form, I see FC4 announced and find my heartbeat remarkably calm.

Nicely put. :D

FC1: Fantastic... well maybe apart from the mutents.
FC2: Great big steaming pile.
FC3: Very enjoyable.
FC4: Wait and see.

Need to confirm if they are running a tick tock (great / flop) cycle of releases.

F'ing A!!!! :D

TAKE MY MONEY!!!!! :D

Always think of FC2 as being a bit racist, I mean... from my few hours of play I break the game down to a few steps:
1)go to a place
2)kill all the black people
3)take diamonds
4)profit
5)repeat

like the aim of the game is single handed genocide. bit like some of the later resident evil games :p

but absolutely loved FC3!!!! great story, stunning graphics, epic characters and loads of places to explore with side quests and little hidden things :D

BRING ON FC4!!!!

hopefully it won't be the typo i just did and just be FC$ :p only for de monies!

If i see any inkling of assassin creed crap back in the game, i wont be amused.

T'was quite boring to see they used the same sort of procedures for map discovering.

The first Far Cry is one of the best games ever made. You have missed out.

That is your opinion, which you are entitled to, not mine.

I got as far as the derelict ship and by that time, I had had enough. It just did'nt draw me in, the game seemed more of a chore than a joy to play.
I thought Crysis was a far superior game to play. I actually struggled with this to start with, but persevered because it drew me in, unlike FarCry.

Besides, it would be a pretty boring world, if we all liked or disliked the same games. :D

it's way too quickly released to be anything other than a cut and paste version of the 3rd game......same gameplay just a different location.
this means it'll be quite good, just a bit too similar.

but considering there's not a lot else to download, i dont think we have much choice do we !!!!!!!!!!!

It got boring for me the moment I realised I'd have to waste time hunting boring animals just so I could craft a sodding decent sized inventory

It was the opposite for me :p I enjoyed getting all the upgrades, then lost interest when I had maxed out :)

I am a number/collector-holic in games though. Cookie clicker is my catnip
