Far Cry 4 due this November

I'm beginning to feel a bit meh with it. About 8 hours in and I've avoided the coop castle icon missions (will do with my brother) but there seems hardly any main campaign story line missions?! Just full of capture towers, fast travel points, races and repeatables.

Maybe I'm rose tinting FC3 but it felt like it had a better bigger campaign story line?

I found switching to a game pad reduced the stutter greatly, saying that however this game does need a fair bit of grunt to get it running good on ultra. Im struggling with a single 780ti to get 60+fps constant @ 1440p

Yeah I think I am doing something wrong. I can't seem to make it work for me. I want to go 4K and downscale to 2560x. But I cannot make it work :confused::confused::confused:

Are you sure you followed the guide exactly? Try a lower resolution first instead of doing 4k right away, I believe 4k can be a bit more fiddly if you have a 60hz monitor as you have to lower the timings.

Google the resolutions that fit the aspect ratio of your monitor, eg look up 16:9 resolutions for a 16:9 monitor. That's why I'm using 3200 x 1800 as it is only a couple steps down from 4k for a 16:9 monitor, the image is not stretched or squashed, round things are round and not oval.

I can't reach 4k on my monitor without really lowering the timings which has a negative effect on the image I think. Besides, my gpus would crumble if I downsample any more.

I'm getting a ASUS ROG Swift and 2x970s, I'm guessing with the issues people are having I won't be able to max this out?

You should be able to max it out (besides TXAA) though it does depend on your CPU speed. Is your CPU overclocked? At stock it will probably max out core 3.

However it will almost certainly stutter when moving out quickly (driving or flying) no matter what CPU/GPU speed you have.

It's at 4.2 so slightly overclocked mate, thanks for that I guess I'll play around tonight :)

Bit annoyed got 4 days off the missus is at work just splashed out 40 quid and it wont start on my e8400 dual core (first time i should have actually looked at the min requirements) , time for my 5 year upgrade..

I can't say that I am blown away with FC4 but it is definitely on par with FC3.

Some things I do miss though, like the tropical feel of FC3, crocodiles (although I swear I saw them in a video or something) as oppose to the stupid big fish we got in FC4 and some other...
On the plus side- BUZZERS (I love those things). Also- the game is huge. I was a bit sceptical when I hear about the mountain terrain but the game is indeed huge...

Happy with my purchase. Next one on the list- Tom Clancy's The Division.

I met two croc's on my play through if I remember close by green reeds in random lakes.
