Far Cry Primal

I have played the previous games and always found the villains / worlds interesting. This to me feels a little half arsed and whilst I understand what they tried to do to make things a little different I’m just finding it all a little dull…It feels like a skin rather than a whole new game world, maybe I expected too much.

I can’t quite put my finger on it but I’m playing it and find myself turning off after 30 minutes or so. There doesn’t seem like a whole lot to do and the “missions” aren’t particularly exciting.

Just my opinion of course..

*hides*

How many main missions have you done? I always find at the start of these sorts of games the missions are a bit slow and boring, then they get much more exciting.

Finally got my copy, had a quick blast. Looks lovely on PS4, got the beast taming mission next up so not far in. First impressions good, nice to have a different setting for a AAA title, although not sure how the gameplay will develop, guess I'll find out.

Only a few hours into this but actually pretty impressed so far. I'm pleased they did something other than the standard Far Cry game and it works nicely.

I actually expected the combat to be clumsy having watched a few early videos but it really is quite well done and I love the setting and the overall atmosphere. Early days and no doubt it'll all get pretty samey later on but for now I can't complain. It really does play very well.

I've played for about 7 hours and I'm loving it so far. Easily distracted and I am exploring more than playing the missions. Seriously though you need to play with no minimap or markers. Sound and visual clues are so obvious it isn't needed. The immersion is so much better this way. Headphones too all adds to it. Sounds incredible.

I concur, I bought this game today and Ive never felt the world around me feel so alive in a game.

Its amazing how much is going on, I never played far cry 4 so I don't know how this compares but I realise its a completely different setting.

Night time is intense. everything is out hunting be it animals hunting animals or you!, The glowing eyes of wolves surrounding you is brilliant and the use of fire is a great tool.

I was not sure about getting this at first, but Im so glad I did.

I have just finished the game 100% and 1000G. Great single player game and loved playing at night time with the noises of animals all around.
Only part I didn't enjoy was the Shaman missions as they had a similar feel to Shangri La from FC4.
8/10 from me, now bring on 'The Division' :)

What's the stash for, I can't seem to store items, only take.

Is it basically a place where the wenga population in my camp put any items for me to collect as a reward, I gather the better skills in gathering will give me better items here.

Thanks

You are correct, it is just a stash for you to take from when you need more resources. I don't think it is based on your skills but more on the size of your village.

Ah thanks, not getting much yet as my population is only at 11.

Eagles picking up them small goats/deer and flying off with them is classic:D

I did one of the rare taming missions (scarred bear) and omg it was intense. He messed me up loads when I didn't know what I was meant to be doing but once I worked it out I was OK. Great fight though - took me ages. Going for the sabertooth next!

Lol, i simply have no idea what i'm doing.
I have amassed about 12XP but can't unlock Shack Jit!
Running round kicking up fuss and causing drama like boss....a clueless boss though.

I've been playing a bit more waiting for my copy of the Division....but I'm getting really drawn into Primal.

It's just such a nice change of setting from the usual. I've always thought the shooting mechanics in FC were a bit crap so it's nice to be able to play with very little actual combat. The crafting system actually *works* in this setting where it felt just a bit weird and didn't fit in the modern FC world.

I like the way the different pets play, it's cool to not have to engage in much combat yourself and just use your pets and abilities to clear out camps. Just sending the bear off on a rampage and picking off ranged guys with the owl works nice :)

Does anyone else find the colours look really over saturated (If that's the correct phrase)? Like, the blacks look really grey and the whites or bright yellows just shine too much? It's really putting me off.

Has anyone managed journey 13/13 completed?

I am missing the Urki journey, I have done his first two missions but the third has never appeared.

I am also missing the Saylas missions where you have to do all the village quests.

Not wanting to do anymore if the Urki missions have glitched!

Started playing this last night. Bit wary at first as I hadn't got a clue what was going on but it's all started falling into place now with building the village and whathaveyou. I can't work out what you are supposed to do with the blue hand markers on the map though. Maybe I haven't played enough yet.

Really love the animal taming though. Such a cool feature having a white wolf following you around.

Is this worth the £17.99 it currently is on PSN sale?

I assume the Apex edition is pointless for the extra couple of quid? Just a weapon and few rubbish bits?

What about £28 for Primal and Far Cry 4? Thought 4 was the weakest one?
