Farage

Lets wait and see shall we

Why wait? It is clear that short-medium term is looking bad, fiscal targets have been abandoned now, cost of borrowing is way up due to loss of credit rating (the one that Osborurne has worked all these years to preserve, saving us £22billion a year) - all the work of DC's government has already been undone.

And it does not look like it will end ANY time soon, regardless who comes to power now - "we're all Brexiteers now".

I don't think I can think of anyone else who is quite as odious, vile and nasty as Farage. Every time I even think of that grinning photo of him holding a pint I want to punch things.

How could anyone see any good in him?!

Really, over a picture? I wouldn't like to really **** you off

You did see him talking at the European Parliament? The guy is horrible! He's rude, arrogant and insulting.

So?

Should we all be hugging and kissing even if we don't like each other?

They are words FFS, he didn't shoot anyone, he told them what he thinks of them and pretty much what a lot us out there think about them to, they are on a gravy train, you or we or I don't matter to them.

I take it you don't know how voting works in the HoC.

Allow me to explain simply: You either vote in favor of a government motion or you vote for the opposition amendment(s).

Now if the vote was:
To agree on a suitable length of carrots to be sold in supermarkets... I wouldn't turn up to that

If the vote was on the state storing every text, phone call email and internet logs of every single individual and given away to the Americans I would go and vote.

We know the HoC doesn't have all members show up, there are select committees, councils, symposiums etc where attendance is far less. In those it may be tactically sensible to "show up and vote". It will make a difference or could.

There is of course a reason as to why governments need a majority and its precisely so they can defeat other parties to ensure their legislature passes.

Voting in the EU is different because of that undemocratic bunch called the European Commissioners

You have just contradicted yourself though. I gave you examples of very important votes he didnt turn up to but your answer was why bother if you can't win so your vote makes no difference?

Yet you have now said if its important you would and should go to vote even if your vote would count for nothing? So which is it?

more importantly, he has always said what he believes in. thats why he has the following he has and why he has gone from strength to strength recently.

How's that important? Those ISIS guys speak from the bottom of their heart as well, they even put their lives on the line. Who cares what he believes if its drivel - ie out of sync with science and reality?

Well done on Engrish fail. No I didn't.
intentional fail

If a vote was a foregone conclusion and it was apparent 200 ministers showed up from one side and there were only 10 expected against would I really spend a few hundred on expenses? No. Only the utmost important issues would draw me out.

If Farage was likely to be outvoted say by the Spanish, French and Germans (much like what the UK does as it so happens) trying to protest takes you to who? Commissioners... Are they going to change something... Nope.

You are missing the point. In the coming years we will need to negotiate with the EU parliament to secure the best deal we can. Walking in and acting like a smug, petulant child while throwing insults at the very people we may need to appease is hardly diplomatic, is it?

Point is he already had claimed those expenses. He was present in the building for every vote so he got his travel expenses for those days, it says so on the EU register. He just didn't vote!!!!! And he didn't even go in the chamber to argue the case or debate it.

And like all democracies you have to start somewhere. In the early days the Tories werent the leading party you know? Guess they shouldnt have bothered turning up to vote then.

And why put yourself forward to be on the Fisheries committee and only turn up for 1 of 345 meetings? What a waste of a position which might have made a difference to the EU.
