Fastest you've been on a public road.

I've been driving doing 138mph GPS in a 2l Focus.

I've been passenger doing 144mph indicated in a 200sx.

Can't believe some of you have been 170mph+, that's insane. :D
I think it's more to do with opportunity. Before getting the BM, as far as I can remember the fastest I'd been was 120mph indicated (About 108mph) in my 1.6 Escort, as that was about as fast as it went! :p

In the time it took you to get to 138 in the Focus, xyz car would be doing 170mph :)

P.S. - Correcting the above, on the most recent Powerstation RR day I hit 130-something indicated in a 2.0 Mondeo.

You bet it is! Dodging all the dead children from the child killing speed is insanely dangerous ;)
at 30 theres around an 80% chance I'll live
at 35 theres around an 80% chance I'll die
...and at 180 theres around a 99% chance I'll be vaporised with a satisfying *boff*

:D :p

my best though just because of the car.... 145mph in an XR2!!! stock engine but rally filter and exhaust, that thing flew for a 1600!!!!

So...125-130 real speed?

Show me a CVH with stock internals that will rev that high...please.

Won't bore you with spec. but Limiter is set at 8500.

Roughly translated as "****...Rumbled... :("

But if otherwise then please, PLEASE bore me with the spec. I'm rivetted to my seat. Literally.

Every time your front tyre leaves the ground, a kitten falls out of a tree with a baby bird in it's mouth, smashing through the skull of a small child sitting below...which then topples backwards, squashing a puppy.

That's what that miaowing and tweeting I hear is... always wondered that... ;)

Maybe I should superglue that tyre down ;)

I dont quite get why people call them valvers, its not like having valves is something special............explain

In the world of small hatchbacks, having 16 valves is like the most uber thing ever. This is why 95% of modified hatchbacks with 16v engines in now sport some sort of additional badges to remind everyone they have 16 VALVES LOL :p

As for me, well, 69.9mph indicated obviously.

So the 75cruise is just a myth? :p

he looked at a 7speed box... but 15k is too much lol.

ms90 gearbox though eh... what car is that from? or is it a specially built one?
the MS90, last time i checked anyway, was around the £22k mark new.
the box is a motorsport homologation part and didn't come with any predetermined ratios as such.
you placed your order and told them what ratios you wanted (they were of course interchangeable depending on the needs of the course you were competing on).

the majority of MS90's around have been converted to six speeders as improvements in engineering have allowed higher rev limits and more power across the rev range.

it's a good piece of kit, if you can find AND afford one although if i were you i would search this forum for Ish's posts relating to the Reyland Escort with an intruiging Skyline sequential 'box.

looks fascinating.

141mph on GPS in an Octavia vRS on the M69, touched up to 143mph on one occasion, but that was probably due to slopes etc...

Had a damn sight more fun braking hard, and trying to push an indicated 50mph on a tight bend afterwards...

Top speed 4TL tbh...

150+ riding pillion on tuned CBR1000.... 140+ riding pillion on Triumph Daytona 955i...... Quite a rush doing those speeds with no control whatsoever....

Yeuch, I did 100 on the back of a GSXR750, hated it. Wasn't too keen on corners, or braking, either. Mind you, it had no grabrail, and a seat precisely the size of one buttock.

Off the clock with speedo needle resting on mileage resetter in my old 2.8i capri fully kitted and tuned....with a nice set of bald tyres on a hot sunny afternoon....well that's the kind of dumb thing you do when your young and stupid and only realise how stupid you are when you get older and wiser. ;)
