A nice pint of Otter goes down well on a hot summers day (or a cold winter's eve). More commonly, a Peroni from the fridge or a Grolsch from the tap are ideal.

It's always a dark ale for me :o

But thats personal taste, I used to work in a bar which had a lot of local/uk ales in small barrels and I had to try all of them to be able to explain to customers what they were picking, I hated almost every one of them.

But you do understand that mass produced stuff is.... mass produced, it doesn’t have as good a quality of ingredients compared to Smaller breweries.

I see where you're coming from, and I don't enjoy the taste of some of the large commercial beers (I can taste the chemicals).

The best beer I've had so far was in the Tallinn Beer House - it's all made fresh on the premises from an old German recipe, and tasted fantastic (nice and fresh, and unpasturised so no chemical aftertaste).

Going to Munich in December so I'm looking forward to trying some local beers :)

I like all types of beers, be it ale, lager or wheat beer, but I guess the beers which are not mass produced are the healthiest. In this I mean that they use natural yeast rather than some modified variant which ferments the beer a lot quicker. There will also be other ingredients which have probably been modified so that the product is ready as quickly as possible.
You don't have this problem with Malt Whisky :)

I know your a fan of Steak, would you say that people should be satisfied with pre packaged stuff on a supermarket shelf?

Things made with desire for a certain taste can't be compared to a conglomerate using cheap rice, and chemicals which make you thirsty or the beer more 'moorish' in my opinion.

It's the same with crisps, you get ones from small company’s that have made them since the war or whatever are fantastic and you can taste many different flavours because of how it was baked, and say with cakes too, the mass produced stuff just doesn’t compare.

If people just tried new things instead of just the stuff that’s just been on TV they may of more of an appreciation for beer. And who knows, we may start to curve the drinking problem *winds head back in*

(I'm not tring to say people who drink nothing but the mainstream beers are idiots, but I can't be sure to word things whilst constantly tabbing at work :p)

Been drinking this a lot lately, it's lovely :)

Make mine a Staropramen please!

Although I mainly drink Strongbow as it agrees with my guts more. (Lager bloats me, think it's IBS related).

My number 1 is Zywiec if I can find it but I do really like becks too, it just needs to be available on tap in more places as i usually have to drink it bottled
