I use a custom hosts file, it get rid of almost all ads in apps and Cydia. :)

Though i found out yesterday, it stops me entering SBSettings options.... :/

How do u use a custom hosts file? I've added some entries to the standard hosts file, just ip's for some servers at work but it doesn't seem to work.
Thanks

Does anyone know of a tweak for the iPhone notification centre that provides the option to create a new email?

I use bite SMS and I like the quick compose feature and wanted a solution for composing emails.

Also, if you count it as an app... Spire!

Mate... you need to give this a little more emphasis!!

It's not just a Siri recreation but it's ACTUALLY SIRI. Initially when it was released there was an issue with paying for a proxy but now you can use the jelly proxy for completely free.

Installed it last night and it's.. Siri!

Not from the NC but deck lets you create one quickly, if its quicker then just opening the mail app, meh..

Various tweaks here and there really, spent a lot of time researching!

I'll be getting the S3 in September, unless the iPhone 5 really pulls something out the bag (which I doubt), I'm so bored of IOS now.

Ah ok my bad, some of them are quite "common" to sort out.

iCloud, turn that off, pointless to me really anyways.
Go to "Restrictions" and turn off "Ping".
Date & Time, turn off "Set Automatically".
Turn off Siri and "Raise to speak".
In Location Services, scroll to the bottom to "System Services" and turn all of them off except for "Cell Network Search" & "Compass Calibration".
Turn off Notifications that you don't use.
Go to Facebook and turn off some of the "Push Notifications".
Put "Brightness" to under half (this actually made a decent difference for me, I have mine at 1/4).
Turn off "Vibrate", at least in Normal mode I do.
Also, do a full restore to completely get rid of somethings that may be draining deep in the background, this helped me.
Set the phone up as new, but restore the phone from iTunes not iCloud.
Bluetooth off.
Auto lock to 1 minute.

Hope this helped, this was off the top of my head, i'll add to this later.
