US: Fear the Walking Dead

Not sure if anyone else watching but Mixed feelings about this season. Still enjoying it with some good parts but...

Aaron standford's character was pointless.

Ah man. I just recently finished watching 12 monkeys so that kind of hurt. I was expecting him to have a big role and was very excited to see him join the cast. Very disappointing indeed.

Exact same feeling mate.

Morgan was doing my head in. I gotta save you despite you harming my friends multiple times and repeatedly tried to kill us. Can you just stop!!!! No no I can save you, your about turn but I can still save you. Not the best moment of the series.

That crazy mop headed woman has totally ruined this season for me.

It was completely stupid and the whole idea was made up without much thought and it showed. Terrible writing and how many times did group get a chance to kill her and how many chances did the lunatic was able to turn Maggie Grace by infecting her.

When it was pouring out, why didn't they just get something to catch it in?!? the tanker was full of it!..

Again whole thing poorly thought out even with the bullets holes the level of liquid at the bottom of a giant tanker should have been enough for more than few bottles.

Very disappointed with the ending as it could have been so much better.

First few seasons of Fear were very good and Madison became an excellent, driven character. However, i am still ****** off they have brought Fear up to date with TWD timeline and now Morgan is the central character.

Alicia, Strand, Daniel, Al, they are strong enough characters to carry the show without Morgan who just brings the mood down! Also not sure why he is now wearing a cowboy hat and we get a Western style sound bite everytime he shows up - we already have Dorie who is a much better character!

Same they actually broke their own promise. The producers original intention was it was its own separate show and would never catch up to the main TWD group. How quickly that was forgotten. They threw away great opportunities to focus on the outbreak and focus on the breakdown of civilisation and government. Instead they **** it down the drain and became a clone of the main show.

I hope this picks up it kinda spoiled since Morgan joined. Will check it out soon.

Didn't it show Madison is back somehow last season iirc?

Absolute awful start. Starting to get sick of Morgan. You would have thought they learn by now the pros and cons particularly working with children.

You telling me they spent all this time building the community and keeping their loved one safe and together. They just give up their child for 8 years to a place ran by people who blackmail them and have their own nefarious plans. Doesn't make any sense.

yeah caught up and while some bits have a slight improvement the overall story still a bit sussed. Still dont buy this whole Padre thing. Come on there worse things out there like Negan, saviours, whispers etc etc. What makes them so special.

Ep 3 last night.

Magic walkie talkies still and "A-Ha! We've got you", "No! We've got you!" - several times, groups appearing as if by magic

Some interesting back story and a twist you can see coming from a mile away, but another decent episode. They did this with TWD, Amazing seasons > dragged out, repetitive seasons > final season they started coming up with some good ideas.

One thing with this episode, they have Shrike and Padre hostage in PADREs office, Dove makes the realisation that Maddison took her from her parents and that her mum is dead, then all of a sudden the hero team just drop their weapons and surrender - they still have Shrike and PADRE hostage. They could either negotiate their way out of the compound or bang bang Shrike and PADRE and it's game over for cult. Please explain as this really bugged me :)

Luciana and Charlie killed off screen? Did the actors not want to come back to this dumpster fire so they get a weak ending :(

yeah it was a bit comical they just spring up just in time and from no where lol

Totally agree so are Luciana and Charlie really dead, if they are then its really poor. Also did Alycia die as well? Thought she wandered off when everyone left on the boats? Shows all over the place.

Back to The Morgan Show. Slow in places, but was decent.

There's a part in the episode with Morgan and the scope - i'm just waiting for the internet to its thing and have random things pop up through the sights. Would be hilarious :)

Ep 5 just out too.

Yeah caught up. Mixed feelings. I think the whole show centres around Morgan too much and has lost its way. The sequence of events is comical and really clumsy in places. Some good acting but again the story is all over the place. First few seasons of this was good particularly on the initial outbreak but this is something else.

Think for me the biggest regret i have is the show runners promised when this first aired this would never cross over to the main show and will be its own totally independent time frame and location o but as soon as that went out the window it was a steady decline. It still worth a watch because you invested time to the characters but Morgan for me really spoiled the show. His mental state is all over the place from Confusion, Aggression and comically at one point a pacifist and then to saviour. Its almost like the show doesnt know what to do with him but he was brought in to revive the show?

Always annoyed me they squandered the chance to cover some of the early days more, see the break down of society and so on. Instead they very quickly jumped to basically a clone of the main show.

Same totally agree, missed oppertuntity, they could have fleshed out the early outbreak and give a bit more background to how the government reacted and how that affected the community and environment. Instead they glossed over it and moved out to become what it today in a few seasons. Imo defo down to budget and also losing the leads quite early on didnt help.

The writing.

Its awful this is by the far the worst screenplay i have seen in almost every TWD series. its comical how clumsy it is. Its falling apart. Morgan and his supporting characters ruined the show for me :(

notreally, fear is wrapping up and it looks like they are moving him to the rick grimes show - great, he's going to **** that up too.

Alicia - kicked out of her own show, what a waste, she was a great character - but that ending, do we know who the mystery figure is?

I hope not, thats the one saving grace that i was hoping to find out. I reckon it is

Maggie Grace's character Elfman, thats why the camera focused on the grave cross. Does that really mean Alicia left the show?? Not that i blame her.

Edit - just looked it up :( "Debnam-Carey, who first boarded the show at 21-years-old and appeared in over 100 episodes, explained that the split was amicable, citing a personal desire "to move on as an actor and as a person. As is the nature of our jobs I needed to seek out new challenges, new opportunities and carve out a new chapter for myself"

I had to Google that - it has been so long since we saw them i had forgotten about her! I'd be happy if it was her.

As for the Alicia comment, i think that must be a 'playing the game' comment. As an actor been pushed out of your own show must be hard. It would be interesting to know what really happened and what she really thought about the situation :)

Yeah she in another show now called Saint X. So defo gone, really sad and weak exit. She just wandered off and that was the last we see of her?? Pretty flimsy imo.

The villains for me has been really weak and their whole background is awful. Really poor and because this is no source material its just the usual make it up as we go along type thing.
