Female summer dress

the worst clothing ever invented for women are culottes, big baggy shorts below the knee usually worn by office types who think they look trendy when in fact they look like a clown

Agreed. I absolutely HATE them. I would rather wear just my pants than bloody culottes. Yeurgh!

Theres a disturbing trend thats developed of late which gives fat girls huge amounts of confidence...Weve spent years saying being fat is ok, and that fat can be attractive...what did we expect the result would be?

I think this paragraph sums up perfectly the current state of affairs. Quite bizzarely there doesnt seem to be enough pressure on women and men to take care of their health and appearance. Too much time spent in the pub/bar and too little time spent exercising.

Are you nuts? There is huge pressure on women to look good...... perfect even , these days. To such an extent that large amounts of women (even those who look good) are totally lacking in confidence about how they look. There is a small amount of 'big is beautiful', but most women think it's a joke - they know that isn't what most people think.

Agreed.

I'm just interested to know how 'fat', this definition of fat is. I need some examples (and not sillyfat people).

Then why is it that we have so many women with big fat beer bellies walking the streets in tight cropped tops, with waists larger than their hips. And this is actually a common sight during the summer months. Im pretty sure they believe that this is the desirable shape for a woman and are proud of their flab.

Like I said, how 'fat' is fat? What do you consider to be fat?

Size 10? 12? 14? 16? 18?

its not about body size, its about how much FAT you have.

Precisely.

You could get a big boned female who is very lean, having a big body size (taller, bigger bones) and wearing bigger sizes of clothing. Yet u could get a petite female with high body fat wearing the same size of clothing that the bigger woman is wearing. The latter woman would be considered fat, even though she is the same "size" as the former.

However, we must remember i think that "fat" is subjective. What i might consider as a fat woman, someone else may not. I think it would be nigh on impossible for us to define "a fat woman" (the grotesquely fat (20stone) women, excepted - they would be fat by anyone's standards).

A very liberal-minded view. You'd be surprised how many blokes can just draw the line at a size 6/8 and say all else is fat.

cazzz was a size 14 when we went out, wouldn't say she was fat.

when I was at college I used to go to the gym/climbing with a (then) 28 year old woman, she was atleast a size 18 or so, about 6ft tall, all muscles (very girly type tho).
last guy I heard say somthing about size 16 being fat within earshot of her had to be sugicaly removed from a fence.

I think a lot of it is how you hold yourself and think of yourself. if you slouch etc your gonna look fatter/less atractive than if you stand straight, cest out, head up etc

Meh, they deserve there shallow and pointlessly vain livies - loosers

So because they have that opinion (which is obviously different to yours) they are losers?

Everyone has the right to their opinion. If they feel that size 10 is fat, then thats their opinion and good luck to them. It doesnt make them a loser.

Surely just judging ppl on appearence makes them a bit wierd though?

most blokes wouldnt have a clue what 6 or 8 really is tbh.

im sure this who subject has come up before and general concensus was that its about being in proportion :]

Not necessarily. We all do it on a daily basis. We walk past people and if they are dressed shabbily maybe we think that they are from a poor background. If we see someone dressed well we think that they are wealthy and of good financial standing (never mind the fact they are in debt with the credit card that allowed them to purchase the clothes). Its human nature. It happens in the animal kingdom where the most healthiest LOOKING animals will get to mate. Its all an illusion. We all do it. We are all victims of it.

In our jobs, when we first meet/greet a customer we form an opinion of them in the first few seconds based on their appearance. Someone who smiles, is dressed nicely and is good looking is more likely to be treated respectfully than someone who is grotesquely over weight, miserable and badly dressed.

Many studies have suggested that a within the first few seconds of a job interview, the interviewer has decided whether or not the candidate before them in suitable or not.

In my own job i see male colleagues of mine treat the prettier girls nicer. The less attractive girls dont get the same preferential treatment.

Judging people by their appearance is what we do every single day of our lives.
