The electric g wagon is a prime example, how they thought that putting an ev drivetrain into an already 2.5tonne ice vehicle would be a good idea, is a bit cuckoo in my opinion.
This does look a lot better. It's subtle.. But also much much better.The thing is you can make a car with most of the Luce's design elements, and still make it look like a Ferrari. The main issue seems to be the proportions:
I've had a to bite my tongue a few times when people have directly or indirectly been critical of me for driving a pickup due to the weight and/or size - but they are driving some 2+ ton SUV which is wider (though not longer) and I have to laugh.

There's a lot of impressive 'statement' buildings built recently that I would expect to wow to 50 years time, but they are typically used for office space. The Gherkin for example is approaching half that age and still draws the eye, and even outside London you get some very impressive new office buildings.

The Gherkin is a terrible building for actual office space though. It might look ok from the outside but inside it's a mess.

where I used to work the building won awards for its design.
it had awful temperature regulation, constant leaks and at 30 years old is being considered for being knocked down such are the costs to renovate it.
no one seems to care if a building is actually well made or fit for purpose so long as it "looks" ok.

What I really don’t understand about the Luce is that it looks like it’s been designed for aerodynamic efficiency.
Fine, I can get on board with that.
But it uses a 122 kWh (!!) battery and only has a range of 329 miles?!
What was even the point making it so damn ugly?!
When BMW are producing cars with 450+ miles and a smaller battery, there’s no excuse really.
A very strange car IMO. It doesn’t feel like it knows what it wants to be.
Is it a car for the wife? Is it the cheaper to run daily? Is it EV for EV sake?

It's an EV with a Ferrari badge to sell to people that want an EV with a Ferrari badge.
It's a car for people who want to be on the invitation list to buy more exotic Ferraris.

maybe but surely the *could* have either made it look more like a Ferrari OR made it a better EV then. as others have said it seems to fall in between all the boxes.
there is nothing wrong with an EV with a Ferrari badge..... so long as it is a desirable one in one way or another.
IF the only reason these sell is because they force sales to get to other cars that is a huge missed opportunity imo.
OTOH if it is a genuinely desirable car just by a different demographic then that is not so bad. time will tell.
(it's still an incredibly inefficient EV tho compared to other similarly performing EVs it would seem)
if it were me looking for that kind of EV I would save a lot of cash and get a Lotus Eletre
