no I knew it was 3 years?? I was looking to delay to shrink the time between now and NEXT october :)

bad news

just been to court today for my little escapabe back in february. I was told that for totting up purposes they backdate the points to the date of the event.

so allthough 1 of my SP30s was 3 years old last month, it still counted towards the totting up rule today. So even if they dont bring the case till next october, if you've got 9 points now and get another 3 then its goodbye license.

i think you've only got 6 though havent you ? so that wont bother you :)

I know I know I know I know I know!

I know they are backdated but until you say you were driving and take the points you have not BEEN convicted meaning that you don't have to tell your insurance company, you can't be banned by totting up etc etc.

For example if I were to get the NIP now and hang it out for 6 months and then get another a few months after I finally took the points and then hung that out we would go past next october and the game would be back on.

This is all making me sound frightfully irresponsible, I'm really not! Just dealing with the reality of driving in 2007 Britain!

Aaaaaanyway, looks like I'm ok anyway, plus it's done the trick either way. I've been payng much more attention to my speed.
