FIA WEC 2017 Championship

Who are you lot supporting?

I'm going for No8 Toyota *and any Toyota if that one fails*
Jackie Chan DC Racing - Love the pain job on those cars. Beautiful.
And the Rebellion cars. Just great to see the names Senna and Prost on the same car. :D

Yeah, we need some big names to step up. Would love to see McLaren, Ferrari and Mercedes join LMP1-H alongside their F1 programs. Hell, the current F1 engine is basically WEC compliant. Who knows, even Honda could make an appearance.

Nissan would be great to have back with a sensible effort. It was interesting, but a complete failure.

yeah more teams would be nice. no one at least in lmp1 I really support, suppose Davidson is closest.

need a Mark Webber or Jenson button in there.
having a break and doing a few other things, but will be watching it pretty solidly over night.

At work tonight, but unless I get a phone call I'll be twiddling my thumbs.

Don't think much will happen with the class for a couple of years, albeit next year it will be good to see some more "lmp1-" cars without the hybrid system.

It's a shame the series seems to be on a bit of a downwards spiral inngeneral as it's actually great to go and watch.

that is interesting and if we are doing a wish list. Have the fast lane do a 24hour commentary type thing again, mainly due to leo parente. That year was great, was it 4years ago? when we had the 2 massive audi crashes.

Loads of places to watch this year. Looking good for Toyota again, they seem to have the pace on Porsche but Porsche are very good at running for 24 hours and Toyota are not. Loads of racing to go and might be a long night as I am enjoying following the events. I must say however, that I find the equalising of cars creates reliable and close racing but it means processional stuff with cars unable to do much as they are all pretty much the same, this is also much the case with LMP2. Back in C1 and C2 you have many ways of getting to the same place and this meant more eventful racing.

Agreed, although I will say that this year so far isn't short of events, far from it. Ever since I got married 10 years ago I stopped watching motorsport because she doesn't like it, this is the first time in years I stopped being a flamingo and put my foot down, and I'm loving it.

Just watching the in-car from a GTE car coming out of the chicane, just behind an LMP2 car, which I thought was the LMP1 Porsche. I thought off it goes as it pulled away then, like both cars were parked, the real LMP1 came past them both at an INCREDIBLE speed. These cars must be WELL over 1000bhp as McNish seemed to imply when it happened. SO fast coming out of the corners, like nothing I have seen before.

The way that car pulled between the LMP2 and GTE car it was putting down torque from the Gods. It was breathtaking. Ive not seen mention of 2300bhp though, that would be incredible.

Both the Porsche and Toyota are approx 500 + 500 from ICE and electrics, but the way the power is deployed means the actual electric figure could be higher for brief moments and is usually lower.
