Fidelity Super Resolution in 2021

That demo was quite funny. AMD put a 6800xt against a GTx1060 and said "look we have higher fps", I mean like yea you do weird flex.

need more details, but on that godfall comparison anything under the Ultra setting is quite blurry, it's about what I estimated where Ultra is 1440p upscaled and then it goes down steps to 540p - but is anyone gonna play 540p upscale to 4k, like really?
I think you see things that are not there. No one said "look we have higher FPS", they offered an example of scaling on the 1060. I don't think anyone expected the performance will scale the same on all cards. Plus there is no RT on the 1060 card so it is obvious that the fps gains will be lower.
And the Godfall thing is all blurry, even at native :)
I think quality is 1440p and balanced is 1080p if you ask me, based on the 6800xt perf at those resolutions minus some frames lost by spending some resources with the upscaling.

Ah so as usual grim is twisting things to suit his own narrative, showing the 1060 using fsr somehow becomes the 1060 being “benchmarked” against the 6800.

Pretty sad grim, pretty sad.

Yeah i think FSR quality is just one big step lower(1440p to 4k or 1080p to 1440p), ultra being an intermediary res, closer to native.
We see here that the 1060 gets 31FPS average at 1440p native and 40 FPS average at 1080p so that is very close to AMD numbers.

Except you know.. FSR looking like a blurry mess, way more than DLSS ever did. Comparisons are out there already with captures from their own video.

Excuse my lack of links but cba logging on PC to link, phone is more comfy. Also you can find them yourself on that era site.

But hey, guess this time around the same people bashing DLSS ‘vaseline’ will praise FSRs’ worse IQ with new moving goalposts.

Honestly he's posted the same thing numerous times and the discussion always goes the same way. Saying that rdna 2 is a "stripped down, budget console chip" then when it's pointed out that it goes toe to toe with nvidias best in raster performance he falls back on the ray tracing waffle. It's like a merry go round of the same gibberish over and over.
One of the more unknowledgeable posters here.

There is a 4k video with the comparison I'll take a look, but from AMD's own Godfall screenshot You can see even Ultra FSR looks slightly lower quality than native but still looks ok, quality/balance/performance all look quite blurry. Wonder if sharpening was applied or not

You know it! :D Wonder if the same people who bashed dlss 1.0 will bash amds FSR ;)

Not bad this so far though, after all nvidias version improved in terms of quality so I expect amds version will too over time. Definitely far more blurry than dlss but suppose that might be the trade of if there is "zero" motion issues... Still though, surprising they released a version like dlss 1 after all the flack it got, especially after all this time.....

Bit of a let down it needs to be done on a game by game basis too (weren't amd and people saying it would be a thing that applied across the board???), given amds track record but..... they have been better in the last year or so with getting their fidelityfx setting in games so fingers crossed!

Oh when i showed you that DLSS is blurry as hell in a clip everyone said that is because the video is compressed. Now all of you have eagle eyes and can see that FSR is blurry as hell in a very bad game where everything looks kind of blurry. :D

Anyone expecting it to be near DLSS is going to be sad.

It’s relatively easy to train a model to scale up resolution, but to get that working on something in motion is another story.

Glad it’s open source (not that they had a choice); could help it build a community and accelerate progress.

instead of look how we can help people who run a 1060

AMD, We make it better
Lisa Su, for you!

In essence, wide adopted technology, killed off DLSS and any marketing talk from jensen with ray tracing.
AMD 6000 series is already faster than nvidias 3000 series and this FSR tech just kicked some sand into jensens eyes.

Lisa Su and tea, kudos for the amazing work you do

I know right rx6000 might be able to get half of Nvidias rayvtraced dlss performance now

DLSS in warzone is meh the people I play with all turned it off

maybe the tech is not that suited to multi player fps who ever makes it

will give it a go of course but the true test for me will be if its intergrated into battlefield 6 later in the year
