• Competitor rules

Please remember that any mention of competitors, hinting at competitors or offering to provide details of competitors will result in an account suspension. The full rules can be found under the 'Terms and Rules' link in the bottom right corner of your screen. Just don't mention competitors in any way, shape or form and you'll be OK.

Fidelity Super Resolution in 2021

the rest of the sentence doesn't contradict the first part. AMD says "FSR is not a DLSS Competitor" . There are not caveats or waivers that will suddenly make that sentence no longer be true.
You appear to have forgotten which part you quoted and the sentence I was talking about so here is a reminder.

Straight form the horses mouth. FSR should not be compared to DLSS

I was not really quoting any specific text, I was referring to the entire statement that AMD made. According to AMD, FSR is not a competitor to DLSS. That is a fact, no matter what mental gymnastics you try. If FSR is not a competitor then comparisons don't make sense, whih is why AMD carefully only worked with Devs on old games with no DLSS support, preventing any side by side comparisons.

Dunno if this is related to FSR but also with today's driver everything pre GCN4 has been moved to legacy and that means no FSR for those cards because the new driver is unsupported and also Windows 7 is now legacy - that I can understand everyone should be on Windows 10 anyway. Some of those cards aren't that old though, I belive there are some 2016 AMD gpus that are now classed as legacy where Nvidia is still supporting GPUs back to 2012

So you weren't quoting any specific text yet said "straight from the horses mouth" and the proceed to quote a specific text verbatim. You are now moving goalposts and are accusing others of performing mental gymnastics.

Except some of the game aren't released yet. Nice one.
Also aren't most games that have DLSS Nvidia sponsored titles anyway. Like how games with FSR are AMD sponsored titles.

Waiting on some games updates to try it out.

Not needed on the 6900 XT, but the 6700 XT could make use of it at 4K.

yea, just buy a faster card is the best option.

AMD can only hide from the comparisons for so long, if FSR was so great to DLSS they would be releasing game support for direct comparison.

I think posters claiming equal or better performance are doing AMD a dis service, this is the first attempt like DLSS 1, a starting point which will hopefully improve over time.

Todays amd solutions are already better than dlss1, lol.
FSR takes it to a next upgraded evolution

Yeah true, that might be a reasonable use case for 6900 XT

could try Destiny 2, seems like it's fixed in the new driver - to quote a Reddit user post from 1hr ago "yay they fixed Destiny 2, can now use the controller and also my 6900xt is finally beating the 1080ti it replaced"

Apparently not in Anno18000 tho. It's the only game I've seen FSR tested in so far - the Ultra FSR setting AMD recommends runs no faster than Native and it's the only one with decent image quality, the other settings run up to 40% faster but degrade fast

What on earth is your problem:confused:

Did AMD state that FSR is not a competitor to DLSS, yes or no?

The Anno game has an upscaling feature which I think is what was used in the video you reference.

So you've switched tactics to a more passive aggressive style, with a hint of "sarcastic" sympathy. Not bad.

Did AMD state that FSR is not a competitor to DLSS, yes or no?
Did you quote AMD verbatim but cut out a select portion of said quote that was inconvienent to the point you were trying to make in your original post that i was responding to Yes or No?

Hint:

The answer to both questions are the same.

I got a nvidia card but while DLSS is nice I really hope FSR takes off and improves rapidly because proprietary technology is not exactly something I am a fan of.

Look, I really don't get what point you are trying to make. I made a post where I pointed out that AMD stated FSR is not a competitor to DLSS.
I apologize if you misunderstood what I said, or if I accidentally copied text verbatim without using quotation marks as that was not my intent. Rather, I was referring to the general content of the screen shot.

What a surprise, the usual suspect(s) making a mountain out of a molehill........

Any results/comparisons for FSR yet??? DLSS 2.2 has pretty much addressed the main and only complaint which was the ghosting/motion issues.
