both pretty crap tbh

the best thing about ultimate team this year though has to be the whole no formation cards.

that means once you buy your set for life, no need to sell and re-buy the exact same player.

it also means you can change formations from game to game with no downsides to try them out.

serie A has no decent LB's so either you need to go 3 at the back or 5 at the back or shoehorn a RB into a LB in a 4 atb formation.

if a serie a IF LB comes out he is going to go for silly money, and i mean silly money.
 
Jesus Sonny I thought you was having a laugh about no LB's in serie A so I went to check :eek: there is two gold LB's and they both look meh at best lol.

On my xbox it says on the EA app that early access also starts midnight Saturday. I hope it is correct :) would be great to get some games in on Sunday and Monday. Tues/Weds/Thurs are write offs for me as I got to travel for work :( still back on Friday so I was kinda miffed I was going to miss the whole early access. That said I still might :p but I hope not !

yeah i went looking for a cheap Serie A LB and Konstant is selling for like 2K, he is worth 250 coins at best

i was going to play 4 atb but had to switch to 3 atb because of this.

i had pretty much bought my whole team as well apart from a RB and another CM, luckily i found a formation which suited all the player's i already had.

looks like serie A is going to be full of 3 ATB teams like it was last year but this time it's going to be because there is no LB's

good thing is though if you pull konstant in a pack, he is worth 10 times what he would usually go for lol
 
Yeah not many LB choices. Raphael Martinho will be worth a fortune (Silver, 92 pace) other options for me would be Antonini, Balzaretti and Konstant. But overall poor for that position.

Edit - Which totally makes me rethink a formation as Serie A will be my first squad.

3 at the back is the only way to go unless you shoehorn a RB in.

Only 2 gold LB in the league is laughable though, despite sciglio plays there for a start.

Probably need to use an Italian LB and link him in through nationality.
 
You do get 48 packs but not all at once. You will get two packs a week for 24 weeks. If you don't open a pack within the week you receive it you will lose.

Santon has never been good ever since he left serie A, there was a time though he was probably the best RB in the game (when he was at inter) and the same year was it de ceglie at LB who was the best in serie A for the coins?

he had it all; height, pace and strength and for less than 500 coins

he was better than maicon (when he was in his prime at inter) because he was faster and had med/med workrates, which meant he stayed back whereas maicon just bombed forward and left you with 3 at the back (in a bad way).

Ibra - Milito

Menez - Lavezzi

De Rossi - Cambiasso

De Ceglie - Chiellini - UP Mexes - Santon


there weren't many I lost to with that line up, all of them cheap too, even Ibra if you compare him to what he costs today. Back then 50-100K was expensive for a player, nowadays that is nothing.

but if you pick Criscito you need to pick italians all around him, which could be an issue if your looking for a decent LM, plenty of decent CM's though so you may want to pick a formation with CM's instead.
 
Nice, got that yesterday, alas a mini-bronze today :/

So tempted to open a pack with my coins, like a drug though it probably wont be worth it.
 
have you guys seen how low stamina is on some player's?

a tactic you could use is to tire the other person's team out if you choose high stamina player's which would open up a lot more space.

i'm guessing a lot of people never ever look at stamina when choosing a player?
 
I was always under the impression the stamina stat on sites like futhead is wrong, as whenver I look at my players in game their stamina is always 90+

My formation last year was 4-3-2-1, so it could work with the CM like you say.

Might try a 3-5-2 or 3-1-4-2 (however you see it) this year.

I believe the stamina on the card is the percentage of the players stamina. For example James Morrison has 77 stamina, so on the card it will give you the percentage of 77 he has left? Or at least I always thought this was it.
