FIFA 19

My biggest gripe with FUT has been the utter grind in single player modes. Seems they have changed that with the squad battles thing. Got my level up to Elite 3 in one session.

Not played SB since early in 18, doesn't your SB ranking drop throughout the week depending on how well other players do? For example, you can smash all your games in as soon as it resets and you'll be top 100/elite 1 but then by the end of the week you could have dropped to gold.

What are peoples first impressions?

For me its a good game, and I do like it - but I think it needs work to improve dribbling as at the moment its nearly impossible to do anything with the ball at your feet. Pace has been nerfed, which I have no real problem with but shielding is also very weak so its very difficult to do anything on the ball as you'll lose it as soon as a defender gets remotely close.

I'm enjoying it, it feels far more realistic than 18 did with the nerfs you've mentioned. Only issue is I don't know if that's going to make the top cards and icons really stand out.

Doing OK in Rivals so far, should hopefully be course for Rank 1 in Div 5, but might struggle to get promoted. Only lost 8 odd games whilst winning 30 odd, shooting is definitely harder, particularly adjusting to low drivens...

How does the timed finish work in relation to driven shots now?

Last year, the double tap gave an OP low driven shot but has this been replace with a timed finish? Is the time finish still low driven or is it random low/med/high etc?

Hold both bumper buttons (LB and RB on Xbox) and then shoot as normal / pull off a timed shot

Also really enjoying it. Finishing is tough, goal keepers are good. Some people have spent 1000s already played some horrible squads. Driven shot is hold both bumpers and shoot. Timed finish is powering a shot then when the players boot is about to make contact with the ball press again.

Has any one got any tips, i won all my placement matches but have really struggled in div 4.

Main issue i have people get so many people behind the ball and its hard to break them down. I like to play passing football which is fine if you go a goal or 2 up

Crossing seems good this year but i never never been much of a crosser. Might try find a good tall striker build a team around him :)

It won't stay there unless you play most of the available games in the week, as its based on total points, you can near enough reach Elite 3 on amateur difficulty if you play all 45 games (I think its 45 per week).
