four of the FIFA lot have already plead guilty and are probably scrabbling to inform on each other for deals, yeah. two sports-marketing guys who orchestrated about $150m of bribes have also plead guilty too and are doubtless doing the same

the USA's federal court system conviction rate is 93%, they don't ever bring cases that they aren't almost certain they can win. the odds of any of the accused getting out from under this are extremely slim

Jesus this is out of the blue, I'd never have though FIFA would be corrupt, Blatter seems such an honest person.

i'm reading that the FBI intend to subpoena Garcia for his full, unedited report into the corruption surrounding those WC allocations (which runs to 400-plus pages rather than the heavily edited 42 pages that FIFA released). some of the interviews Garcia conducted took place on US soil so they have legal grounds to demand the entire thing. fun stuff

They're talking about racketeering charges if they get extradited to the USA which, as far as I can see, can lead to prison sentences of up to 30 years. If these FIFA people end up in the US then maybe they'll squeal like piggies to stop themselves squealing like piggies from a far nastier cause.

I hope Blatter is crapping himself the corrupt ****.

I agreed with this right up until the point where it became illegible towards the end!?!? "srs biznis" - is this supposed to be "serious business"? If so why did you jump of a cliff literacy-wise??? :confused:

But yes, hopefully this will yield more results that FIFA's "internal investigation" that was summarily ignored!

I knew they heavily doctored it but I didn't realise they literally chopped it to less than 1/8th of the original. Would be interesting to see what he actually found and not what FIFA wanted people to know.

Blatter is Swiss and Switzerland does not extradite its own citizens, so my understanding is that he is safe (from the USA at least) as long as he stays there

Rather than the 'speech circuits' former world leaders take up after their terms, Blatter should develop his own private workshops on how to be corrupt and evade justice.

"Edit" Who honestly wants a world cup in Russia or Qatar (aside from people who are after bribes)? I was really annoyed when it wasn't awarded to us, NO ONE can do it better than we would.
