On another note though, it's amusing that everything was ignored until america starts kicking *** only then people start caring

Unbelievable that this can continue in today's modern world. How something so big, so important can exist in such corruption from the top down. Who's ever heard of a "non-profit" $26bn industry!
They need to scrape everyone involved with FIFA, elect Prince Ali and get moving forwards, quickly!
What will happen, election Friday and that horrible old git will still be in charge :)

As distasteful as it may be, I actually think i'll throw a fist pump when that clown finally buys it.

FIFA needs destroying.

Something new and not based in a country where its not illegal to take a bribe would be a good place for a new HQ.

Football should be brought home.

Everyone knew what was going on but out of the world's biggest nations only America has little to lose and the clout to carry it out. Who knows what could have happened if we'd gone for it and failed to produce enough evidence.

I am amazed they were actually arrested in Zurich.

I guess the FBI mean business and even FIFA aren't dismissing these as unfounded allegations.

So many people who hate FIFA, or can't stand them, or similar... but I bet almost all of you lap up the World Cup when it's on :o.

Hating FIFA is not the same as hating football.

It's the same with fans at clubs whom hate the own(ers), Newcastle is an example.

And if you actually hate them then the only thing you can do is not support them financially - directly or indirectly, whilst encouraging others to do the same. It's not as though anyone has to watch the World Cup to watch football... there are a lot of other alternatives, if you love football but hate FIFA.

Absolutely, but football fans do not do that. Football is far too tribal, habits too difficult to break... whatever the reason.

world cup is free to watch

In a perfect world if everyone stopped watching then yeah but if you love football it's not quite as simple as "stop watching it"

I think Russia will go ahead but I'll be surprised if Qatar still host it in 2022.

Not paying to see them play in a world cup would send out a clearer message. Armchair fans don't really effect the money fifa gets.

Also it seems major brands like coca cola are looking to terminate there contract with fifa. That will make a bigger impact then us

I hope this is limited to FIFA and football, I'd hate to see the World Curling Federation come into disrepute.
