FIFA World Cup 2014 - GROUP D [Uruguay, Costa Rica, England, Italy - 14/19/20/24 June] **spoilers**

There was more wrong with the balance of the England team in the second half v Italy and the whole of last night than when Rooney was facing his own the goal more in the first half v Italy.

My view is that if we have to sacrifice some of Rooney's 'technical ability' or whatever other underlying ability he has for the England team AS A WHOLE to play better as a cohesive attacking unit, then as a non-United fan I'm happy for him to have quiet games when playing for England out on the wing, if he doesn't want to play there or is not good enough there then drop him... but I have a feeling that he is undroppable in tournaments which is why Roy reverted back to Rooney in the middle.
 
To be fair, Savage is being fairly just with what he's saying. It's infuriating that the officials are so ****
 
So frustrating... This Italy team really isn't that good!

Had to mute it now due to Savage. Could have been worse though, we might have had Robben email explaining the goal to Jonathan Pearce!

I still maintain the USA will win the world cup way before we do or probably any African side.

So he can play at a higher level in the EPL against better teams but stepping down to international level is too much? Quite simply he had a poor game.
 
I'm all for Costa Rica winning even if it means England are out the tournament, we don't deserve to get through if we only get 3 points.

I'm cheering for Costa Rica too. England should not (and will not) go through with two defeats and a win. It would be ridiculous.

Why shouldn't they? I have never understood the attitude of someone deserves to go through over someone else, if Costa Rica and Uruguay can't win their remaining games and England can and have better goal difference why shouldn't we go through, that's how it works.......

Like people saying Liverpool deserved the league over City this season, no they didn't you deserve it when you do it.
