FA confirm Hodgson staying as England manager. Waste of time.
Why is it a waste of time? He's done a lot of good things for the England squad since being in charge and he has the dressing room. The players all really like him..
I guess tactics and stuff don't matter then, great.

They should not because 66% defeat is not the statistic of a winning team. Watching bottom tier teams is just plain bad football, and certainly not fit for the world stage.

Typical, ignore everything else and focus on just one moment.
Even if you did focus on just that moment, having a well drilled team who keep focus is something the manager can influence.
What do you mean typical? Did Uruguay only have two shots? It was fair contest that was decided by a lapse of concentration by a player. Don't throw the baby out with the bath water

I mean, it's what you do. Shift all the blame onto the players, because it's not the poor old managers fault.
I think everyone had faults, the manager and the players, but I think Hodgson is the wrong man to take the team forward from here. Having said that, I'm not sure who could replace him.
Pirlo doesn't look quite so cool when you hassle him so he can't cruise around in midfield.

To be fair all these responses are based on ifs buts and maybes. I'm sure every player thinks that they deserve a chance if they're good enough to be in the squad but ultimately the decision is down to the manager / coaches. IF Lambert came on earlier would he have got the service to create such chances, would he have converted them? Who knows.
At the time of the second goal would Roy be settling for a draw? and to be fair England were having a good spell creating chances since Rooney's equaliser so why would he want to change things in the last 15 minutes?
I think what we're mostly saying is that we hope it doesn't go "our way".
It would be better for Costa Rica/Italy/Uruguay to finish on 6+ points and go through as deserved winners.
Nobody wants the 2nd team (whoever it is) to go through on 3 points. It would be a crap result.
It's what i do? no, i just understand as a footballer, that the buck stops with them at this level. Not the other way round.
The team selection and tactics were fine, although, Gerrard & Hendo could have done with another man in the middle.
You can see a clear change in mentality, we need stick with him for the Euro's.
