FIFA World Cup 2014 - GROUP D [Uruguay, Costa Rica, England, Italy - 14/19/20/24 June] **spoilers**

Apologies for late reply.

To be fair all these responses are based on ifs buts and maybes. I'm sure every player thinks that they deserve a chance if they're good enough to be in the squad but ultimately the decision is down to the manager / coaches. IF Lambert came on earlier would he have got the service to create such chances, would he have converted them? Who knows.

At the time of the second goal would Roy be settling for a draw? and to be fair England were having a good spell creating chances since Rooney's equaliser so why would he want to change things in the last 15 minutes?

You are right, who knows? What we do know is that the current setup is ineffective, and something needs to be done. I would be surprised of Lamers doesn't play at least 20 minutes in the last game (assuming the England attack is crap again).

So the buck never stops with the manager at the top level?!

Incredible.

Oh come on now, it's not like he played a mad formation or something. Jesus. The team was fine, we could have won it last night just as much..

Whose fault is it that we were so truly shockingly bad at defending set pieces?

Sure, that's one thing definitely. Would be nice to find out what Welbeck was told about the front post.

I have to ask, if he wasn't anywhere near good enough for Liverpool (was there any good points that came from his time there) then how is he good enough for England?

Having said that, he's the umpteenth manager in a row who hasn't been able to get England to turn up for major tournaments.

I assume you are speaking about Lambert.

Well, I'm not saying Sturridge-Sterling-Rooney-Welbeck shouldn't start, but if after 60/70 minutes you haven't shown anything promising, something needs to be changed no? As I said, Barkley coming on in the 6th minute is good. A striker coming on at the 85th minute is too late.

EDIT: Didn't read second line. :D

Italy playing against Costa Rica

Think they only had 1 or at maximum 2 decent chances, none of them coming in the second half.

P.S. The gif has nothing wrong no. Please don't ban me.

Is back.
.
Disappointed hodgson is staying, it will be the same old **** at the euros.

Nah, we might not qualify again. Like Euro 2008 :p

Only needs a couple half-decent teams in our qualifying group. And given that we're drawn into the crap pots (unseeded) now, that's more likely.

Just goes to show though, England should be nowhere near the top 10 in terms of rankings. Costa Rica are 28th, and are considerably better than we are.
