Exactly this, I'd much rather we played the inform players and play at a high tempo and give them something to worry about, rather than all this smother pirlo rubbish. We should be going at them, not worrying about him.

Yet we won't we will play what's considered a safe team and play a nice safe game and hope to win 1-0. We have players high in confidence with pace that should have them on the back foot, not worrying about ruining the game of one man.
 
Tim Vickery just said Sirigu didn't play in Italy's friendly against Fluminense the other day because he has bruised ribs. So he might not be 100% himself.

Hoddle and a few others have mentioned using Sterling and Barkley as impact subs, i think it's quite a good idea myself. Once they are knackered at 65 mins, Stirling and Barkley can ruin them with their speed and directness..

Really excited about tonight. Early goal for one team, maybe a sending off... or even an offside or two! 2-1 England, based on nothing much other than I want us to win.

Question marks are over the two wide positions, not convinced by Lallana and would like to see Sterling, but he might be better as a sub.

Welbeck covering Johnson is justifiable as he's useless defensively, but I'd rather we just went for the throat.

Yes, I agree, I think that's what we'll see.

Boring and standard, and weak on the right of defence. I would play it differently, but I can't see woy doing so.
 
ITV's commentary is embarrassing! Not sure who that was during those Columbia v Greece highlights but it sounded like they just went 'oop norf and pulled a random bloke out of a pub. :p
