FIFA World Cup 2014 - GROUP D [Uruguay, Costa Rica, England, Italy - 14/19/20/24 June] **spoilers**

back from holiday. went to lisbon and visited Benfica's stadium. wow just wow what a stadium. vey similar to emirates due to the same company who built it.

Their museum was amazing too. so much much history

edit: i will post pictures later. right now i have not slept since wednesday due to the whole city turning into one big fat festival lasting all day all night..

i even watched the brazil macth with a load of brazilian fans in lisbon...

I now like Benfica. very good club and history.

I aslo bought a jersey and wore it to the festival. everyone was hugging me and kissing the badge.

Basically Benfica fans are A LOT MORE PASSIONATE and hardcore than us arsenal fans located in london.

feel free to move to Lisbon, support Benfica and cut yourself off from the internet

Ugh, please don't start Welbeck :( Guy is useless and can't see the rationale behind starting him?
Our attack has to be lively, aggressive and have some pace to it if we are going to beat the Italians! Welbeck offers none of that.
(hopefully he scores tonight :p)

Funnily he has all the attributes to be a good player, he's just not got the brain, he's a headless chicken, and it's clear that'll never change.

Really hoping Sterling starts ahead of Welbeck, and Hodgson doesn't set us up for a draw. We can hurt Italy if Sterling can do his thing and Rooney turns up. Please turn up Wayne.

If Rooney is rubbish then we've got to get Barkley on before half time.

I can see it now. If Welbeck is fit and he'll start, and if Rooney is off his game he still won't be brought off. Woy will not sub someone before half time unless its through injury either.

Confirmed that Buffon will not be playing tonight :)
Also Suarez won't be starting today either. Hopefully he won't quite be match fit against us!

The England team visited an orphanage in Brazil today.

"it's heartbreaking to see their sad little faces with no hope," said Jose, age 6.

:D Fantastic.

Confirmed that Buffon will not be playing tonight :)

Yup just read that myself on the beeb. Their second keeper is PSG's Sirigu though, he might not be Buffon but I'm assuming he's pretty good. Anyone here watch Ligue 1 and vouch for this chap?

"He twisted his ankle very lightly, very, very lightly and is receiving treatment at the moment

People (Media and everyone else) need to remember that Italy have a very talented midfield, concentrating on Pirlo could allow more space and time for other midfield talent.

Hasn't Buffon been a little turd for Italy lately? Peter please confirm.

He's been pretty solid for us, has the odd moment of craziness since he has aged a bit. Sirgiu is a very solid keeper though so shouldn't be a problem. Italy haven't won a match in 7 attempts so we will be looking to put that behind us tonight.

Bearing in mind the conditions, it might be better to use someone like Sterling as a substitute.

Yup, Sterling can get beyond the defense at any stage of the game, but do it once all the Italian players have been running around in the heat it will be much easier. I do feel he needs to be a sub, I'm sure he'll do fine if he starts though.

Really excited for tonight, very interested to see how the group pans out. Uruguay I think will only win by 1 goal :3
