FIFA World Cup 2014 - Semi-finals [8th - 9th July] **spoilers**

Funny how people were slating Kroos and Khedira on here before the World Cup.

And despite the score line I am not sure all the Germans are playing at their best yet.

Khedira hasn't been in form for 18 months but he's been injured for a large part of that and WAS poor in previous games. He was great today but not as good as people are saying. Kroos scored two relative tap ins that were laid on the plate for him. He wasn't particularly involved in most of the goals.

Don't forget that for 23 minutes Kroos has basically done nothing. ALL the attack came through Muller and Klose, they were brilliant. The second goal utterly destroyed Brazil, they weren't good before then but the second goal just wiped out all resistance for the first half at least. They fell to absolute pieces and it was only then that Kroos got "involved", he did very little through the rest of the game either. Kroos was just standing near the edge of the box for his goal, Muller was involved in the build up and made the run, the pass was to Muller. It was a Muller mistake(or epic dummy :p ) that let the ball run to Kroos.

These are the kind of games/statements that bug me. Muller has been basically the best player in the tournament for almost every minute he's been on the pitch, Kroos got two goals and did not much else in the game.

He finished well on both occasions but Kroos did nothing else to stand out. When they were under pressure in the first 15 mins of that half I didn't see Kroos doing anything at all while Muller was running all the way beyond Lahm at right back and bursting 90 yards forward to push the Brazil defence back.

Khedira's movement forward was much better than Kroos, and his unselfish passing set Kroos up for his second when he could pretty easily have shot instead.

It's good to see Khedira looking far closer to his best after his injury. If he was fit a month earlier and got another 4-5 games before the season ended he might have started the world cup in that same form.

I nearly cracked up with laughter from all the aimless skipping he was doing on the pitch. Luiz really and truly looked lost tonight.

For all the **** Luiz gets and deserves. Marcelo, Dante and Maicon deserve the same, utter dross.

Gustavo and Fernandhino were awful as well, there work rate was dire and they stopped trying to be an option for balls out of defence, giving Luiz the perfect opportunity to hoof the ball down field

There was nothing Brazilian about the Brazil team this World Cup. Shocking. Surprised they got this far, Columbia would have given it their all against the Germans.

Kroos was outstanding. I noticed his passing and moving. Without him Germany wouldn't have scored those 4 quick goals. Possibly none.

I always think hes over rated and never does anything of note, but tonight he was brilliant and i have no idea what match you've been wathcing.

TO be fair, I think 95% of players would just be in a state of shock after a game like that at a home cup.

I like the guy, he can play some great football, but he'll never, ever give 100%, he will back out of tackles and when the difference in the biggest games is that extra yard and winning that 50/50 or making the pass even when you know you're going to take a hit... he's not the player for that. Out of an epic team performance he still managed to look poo, he couldn't even blend in okay, he made big mistakes and poor passes, slow runs and looked a big girl throughout.

Never 42mil, never first team in big games. He's a semi decent player with a terrible terrible attitude.
Have to agree with this, he's a good player nothing more.

Kroos MotM, 93% passing accuracy, 1 assist, 2 clear cut chances created and 2 goals. Poor game though, didn't do much.

MOTM is mostly meaningless, it almost always goes to those who scored the most. Muller was easily, easily man of the match. He scored the first, set up the second, was involved in the third, somehow only got one assist... i guess because Klose shot twice before scoring it doesn't count.

There was ONE man who completely dominated Brazil up to 2-0, Muller, after that the team utterly fell apart. He was defending and attacking throughout the game, dragging his team forward in the second half. Setting up more goals and winning corners, making chances.

I would also point out that later in the game Kroos was doing stupid passes to others then running towards the box to get himself a third. While I can see the appeal they were poor passes, he was being selfish even though Muller and Khedira were both being unselfish and were the only reason he was on two goals at all.

Ask bayern or Barca how passing accuracy does. Great players don't give a crap about passing accuracy, anyone can pump their stats by taking low risk passing, it's high risk passing which wins games.

The most hilarious stat apart from the fact that Brazil had 4 more shots than Germany, is that of 14 shots Germany had, 12 were on target, the only player not to hit the target.... twice.... was Ozil :p

It was Muller who was responsible for Brazil falling apart, Kroos was barely involved in the first 25 mins till his shot. Likewise is was Khedira's closing and unselfishness that laid the ball up for Kroos. Kroos was mostly doing his usual safe passing that anyone could do, Khedira and Muller were the players really driving the team forward, pressing the defence, forcing mistakes. Anyone could have replaced Kroos tonight and got two relatively simple goals, no one could have replaced Muller... Khedira not many would perform as well as he did tonight and even less wouldn't have taken the shot and cut back to Kroos.

If Germany perform even 30 % of whay they were like tonight for the final they will obliterate either of the other two despite how bad Brazil were

@ChrisDHWaugh you call yourself a journalist - you should be sacked for your blatant harassment and stalking of Mesut Ozil.
