FIFA World Cup 2014 - Semi-finals [8th - 9th July] **spoilers**

I can't see Argentina winning this one, Netherlands have looked a bit off since the Spain game but Argentina are going to be relying on Messi to create something and I don't think the Dutch will give him anywhere near enough time on the ball compared to some of the other teams Argentina have faced.

If the Netherlands can stop Messi influencing the game, they'll win quite comfortably.

Will come down to how they play on the night though, should be a tight game. You'd expect Robben to give the Argentinian defence more than a few problems.

If LvG unscrews the team and sets them up better like Germany managed, they'll beat Argentina comfortably. If they continue with the Kuyt, work rate but no actual quality delivering service to the front line then they'll like struggle as they have for the past few games.

Germany finally after a few dodgy performances made those right calls. Having Muller play mostly wide and actually be that driving force down the wing, who could bring everyone in to play was crucial. With Ozil/Gotze wide they didn't have that link between midfield/upfront. In that first game Blind was stunning down the left in both getting forward but also the delivery. For the past 3 games RVP has made run, after run, after run... with delayed passes, no good crosses in behind. he's getting caught offside but mostly because the passes are delayed, he's onside in the majority of situations screaming for the pass only for it to come 2 seconds too late(if at all).

Argentina don't deserve to get to the final, atrocious throughout the tournament. Holland playing their best have looked about eleventy billion times better than Argentina at their best, problem being Holland haven't been close to it for the last 2 games.

This is a fairly **** Netherlands team so "unscrewing" is a ridiculous thing to say. Germany have a better team to a man apart from RvP and Robben.

For me, Brazil have been very poor throughout this world cup.

They have had a lot of luck and referee calls going their way and it is no surprise that when they come up against a top team, all their faults are highlighted when they took on Germany.

Brazil and the ref have themselves to blame for Naymer getting injured because when you kick the opponents star player, expect a retaliation especially when the referee doesnt punish brazil.

I am satisfied that brazil lost because truth be told, they did not deserve to be in the Semi Final

I couldn't agree with you more Jonney, they were pretty poor throughout. The game against Croatia kind of set the tone for the remainder of their games until they met Germany. They should never have beaten Croatia and what happened against Colombia was ludicrous.

Teams are out, the question is, are Holland taking a huge risk playing RvP and de Jong?
