Er....
He's not the only one tbh. They really need to find some better quality players, I'm sure there are some out there.
England are going to run in to teams where all the players are top players from now on. Mistakes just can't happen.
Eh? his overall abilities on the ball aren't amazing and tackling is a bit weak but his insight, positioning and delivery (and just generally keeping a level head) have been exceptional and while quite subtle he has taken a huge amount of pressure off the England weaknesses with his play.
Plus he stepped up and scored a decent penalty when it was called of him - certainly can't fault him in that regard.
Good job the only decent team we meet will be in the final. whilst no one expected anything from this squad losing to swe and cro/rus is not an option.
France will crucify us if we play like that against them. I do think a solid win against Sweden will do us the world of good. Another game like that and even if we scrape through it will just feel like life line after life line.
What a night. Watched the game near London bridge, after we came out the streets were closed off by police everywhere, crowds of people singing in the streets everywhere. Imagine what would happen if we actually win the world cup!!!

Don't know why people keep expecting us to beat these teams, they're all ranked virtually the same or above us (apart from Russia). Sweden are very hard to beat and apart from one game Croatia have looked one of the better teams.

Entertaining match but not pretty to watch, not sure if any of the teams actually had a shot on target during play and the only player I rated in the England squad was McQuire because he seemed to consistent throughout the game. The rest were mediocre at best, forwards were non-existent and there just wasn't/isn't a playmaker in the midfield at all.
Sweden were dreadful in their match too so not expecting much of the beautiful game for the quarter finals.

Why was Rashford only on the pitch at the very end?
Why are Henderson and Dier taking penalties? When you have Vardy.
Why is Stirling still being picked when he’s does nothing but give the ball away or fall over.
They were lucky to win that match. Pickford saved the team from humiliation.

Humiliation? Grow up ffs, they're 3 spots behind us in the rankings!
Maybe because no one has a clue why he didn't take one? And we won, most people are taking this chance to be happy.
