Why would you play for a draw? Can't really rest anyone now, well we could change it but Southgate won't and now face, yes it's Wales but they will be up for it.
 
On the one hand, we did enough to get through and doing well in these tournaments is all about keeping your best for when it's needed; on the other hand, that didn't feel like what we were trying to do.

Agreed. Can't believe people thought we where going to walk it. We weren't great but I never expected us to be. The US new our weaknesses and they played into there strengths. Pressing the midfield and taking advantage of our wonky back line when they could.

People forget that this is what makes the world cup great and NOTHING is guaranteed. Club stats mean nothing, you have to play the team on the field, not the personas in the dressing room.

we still haven't qualified, lose to wales and we wont be going anywhere
 
That was a dreadful performance, Southgate is a very poor manager who should be nowhere near this job. Nothing new there.

Maguire was very good in fairness to him, and Grealish was OK when he came on. Everyone else was pretty much garbage.

Harry Kane looks ponderous and like he's not really fit.

The USA were better in every area, although they didn't really create much in the end.
 
Next game against Wales could be dangerous. Wales a team with nothing to lose, playing for pride and always try harder versus England.
 
If Southgate starts with the same team against Wales I'll lose it. Foden, Jack and Arnold should start. But they won't because it's cowardly Southgate.
 
Kane and Maguire both repeating the same points. You wonder if Gareth has drummed in those points going in to the game…

This is what gets my back up about Southgate, he doesn’t learn

Mount was comfortably the worst player on the pitch at the Euro final although played out of position yet stayed on far too long. Same tonight. 5 subs yet we only use 3? Foden doesn’t play a single minute? **** off

He’s a bad manager who gets away with it because we do have a decent squad. He’s holding us back.

Maguire was motm for me. Says it all.

I always think people vastly underestimate how much Trippier does to keep England in the game. The only ones I'd have really said were terrible tonight were Kane and Stirling - they should have been gone by 30 minutes in - only a complete dense **** of a manager couldn't see that.

A few unforced or not really forced errors by Mount but otherwise I'd have said Kane was far worse.
