FIFA World Cup 2022 Group B ** spoilers ** (England, Iran, USA, Wales)

That happens at a world cup at some stage? It's the 2nd game and first one against someone not rubbish. You could literally make up any excuse and these brainless pundits will have said it. I would love one to grow a pair and tweet Saffgate is ****, and leave it at that.

It does happen, regularly in fact. The best teams might start badly but pull it out later on, weaker teams blind better opposition and flop hard in the knockouts. That's international tournament football and it's exactly what makes it so great.

I'll be happy as long as we smash Wales, or get smashed by them, cause if they did they probably deserved a good thrashing, and maybe a change of coach.

We controlled the game according to Southgate. The man is delusional.

He talks like USA are a top side, good luck to us when we actually play anyone remotely good. He talks about the team showing him another side…yeah, a crap side.

And yes, we were booed off.

Good thing we arent talking about Italy then. They funnily enough beat England a couple of months ago...

But we can draw comparisons to games played in an entirely different league in an entirely different setting?

I'm not saying England played well tonight, we didn't. We where poor by any standards and we went up against a team who had everything to prove and often times the skill to back that up. But the constant nay saying towards our team is so tiresome. We shoot them down before they've reached the first hurdle so often that its a wonder we ever place in these tournaments to begin with. Nothings ever good enough. If we're in an easy group and get through it's undeserved, if we climb the knockouts it's because we've had an easier ride, if we get to the finals it's by luck. Very few international teams will trounce there way to silverware without a few bumps in the road.

I'm not having a go at you specifically by any means. You post in the threads quite often and always seem to have a reasoned take. I'm just venting I suppose.

Southgate just does not know how to change the momentum of a game, he's incapable of it and getting to the semis of the last wc and an euro final makes him feel he's justified in whatever he does for the good of the team

We've got another "golden" generation and if we don't get rid of him it's going to be lost. I'd rather we go out in the round of 16 of quarters and thats the push to get rid of him than watch us get to the semi's and then go out and we are stuck with him.

How can you leave your best most exciting player on the bench, imagine gazza being benched for Euro 96
