Final Fantasy VII Rebirth

I'm shocked at how well it's going tbh, I've been oggling MSI OSD just to get things running smoothly, it's sometimes a touch borderline but I've yet to see it exceed 11GB so far.

What GPU do you have?

4070 standard.

I was hoping for some uplift with the 5070tiS but given the leaks I'm going to need to be seriously impressed to make the jump at this point, the only thing tempting me is that I'm gaming at 4K from time to time for RPG's on the TV.

I seriously sometimes wish I didn't go 4K, yeah its impressive on the 32" monitor and DLSS looks great on it but man do you need a beefy GPU, I sometimes think about getting a 27" 1440p see if I could go back lol

It's the biggest factor for me right now in buying a new gen card, but Rebirth is running so well thus far I'm not sure I'm going to bother. It's only the odd adventure/souls like game and RPG's that I play on the TV as I prefer the mouse and keyboard for everything else.

Most of the RPG's I care to play on the couch are a good deal easier to run.

Just the 7 remakes specifically.

Funnily enough I've never played 7 at all (I was an n64 boy growing up)

To be fair yeah theres only couple games I can think off right now where I can't get the performance I like without turning down settings (or in case of CP2077 running DLSS Performance) and the 5080 will bring me back closer to my old 4090 performance level but still I sometimes wonder if its really worth the cost ha

The biggest tip I can offer is to not burn yourself out by doing everything in every zone, I never intended to at first but got drawn in and it caused burn out by the time I got to around the Gold Saucer area. You can eventually backtrack very easily, so pacing yourself absolutely helps a lot, I found mixing main story progression against side content really helped. The world is absolutely huge, and impressive in that it's essentially seamless without loading between zones shy of fast travel or events. It's amazing to explore and see but it's easy to get lost in things that can unnecessarily cause FOMO if you're that way inclined.

Ah thanks, was just about to search this myself actually. So at Kalm i didn't fully explore the area, i only beat two of the Queens Blood players, found a third but skipped them because i just wanted to get on with the story progression. Then when i left, i realised i couldn't return, was about to load my previous save back up and complete the area fully, but nice to now know i won't have much trouble returning. I love mixing story and side content but only start the side stuff when i've completed a good amount of story first.

So there isn't anything i can complete miss permanently right? does the game warn me like it did in Remake, that i should complete everything in the area before moving on, or is that not present here?

Also is the Kupo Charm & Survival Set worth it?, it's a Twitch steam drop, but seems like a lot of hassle to get, and i want to avoid spoilers.

I run a dual monitor setup currently, and it really makes things easier in that respect.

34" Ultrawide at 3440x1440
65" 4K TV

I realise that's not possible for most, but it's such an ideal setup for my use-case. I couch game with the TV for RPG's/Adventure stuff like God of War or DMC etc, I use the ultrawide for almost everything else and it requires a lot less grunt.

I don't remember on the kupo and charm set bud, but you should be able to ship back over and run around doing whatever around the Costa Del Sol or Gold Saucer point, par the regions you've yet to unlock.

Man I'd love to have the room for a 65+ OLED for JRPGs and such, I had a 55" CX years ago and it was just insane for controller gaming

Fair enough, I think £45 is a decent price for all 6 tho I personally just bought 4-6 then got the final 3 short while ago

If i were about to play them all now I would happily pay that. But it is more for my collection. To be ready to play on my steam deck as and when I fancy and have the time.

I think.i am close to completing chapter 1. Managed to put in a little over 2 hours.

Man, I already feel it, the game has quite a bit of padding. What's with the vacuuming mako etc. Lol.

Really wished they did it over 2 games with a lot less padding.

Yeah that vacuum part really annoyed me, I quit earlier just after the big bird fight, I'll play a good bit later today
