Final Fantasy VII Rebirth

I mentioned earlier that I was getting flickering textures/shadows when first get to world map but lowering Background Model Detail to High seems to have sorted it...for now :p

One of those rare sequels that not only lives up to the first game but surpasses it in every way! The animations are more fluid and stunning, the controls feel tighter and more responsive, and the soundtrack? Absolutely phenomenal! Mili outdid themselves with the OST—it’s a masterpiece. As someone who’s obsessed with game soundtracks, I can confidently say that ENDER MAGNOLIA’s OST stands shoulder to shoulder with giants like NieR: Automata and Stellar Blade. It’s that good.
The only downside for me was the price, but thankfully, there are sites like steamrent where you can get activations at a more affordable rate. For me, this is a solid 10/10 and a strong contender for Game of the Year. If you haven’t tried it yet, you’re missing out on something truly special!"
Am I the only one who feels like this was written by a bot to subtly advertise the most scam sounding site going

Ultrawide mod. Says work in progress so may have some bugs. Will be testing out later.
Game changer! a little janky in some respects but its SOOOO much better in full 49" Ultrawide!

Yeah playing just now and transitions from cutscenes/fade to black and to and from menu looks a bit odd. Hopefully gets cleaned up soon. So much better in uw like most games though

Why is it mainly Japanese devs that don't implement UW out of the box?

I love JRPG's and most of them don't have UW.

Luckily, like this game, most of them have third party solutions.

I got to the Chocobo Ranch in my first sitting last night, which coincidentally was the same spot I got to before calling it a night when I played on the PS5.

About to fire it up and settle in for the evening, while resisting the urge to 100% the first map again! :p

I think its more hilarious when you get a game like Trails in The Sky where even though its a JRPG from the PSP it supports UW perfectly fine on PC but then you get the latest and "greatest" JRPG's, and sometimes even RPG's, and they don't

I used to love my UW for certain games but stuff like this I certainly don't miss

Just got here and decided to call it for the night. Been a long week and struggling to focus. Gonna go watch some trash on YT and have an early one. Pick it up again tomorrow for a good session. So far loving it, This a section of the original that I remember very vividly. Looking forward to getting to Junon! Really impressed with how well its running even on 49" 5120×1440.

It's weird how the pacing landed me there and like you the memories of the original were so vivid, it just feels like the perfect stopping point for a sitting.

I'd like to play it on my Steam Deck. But so far, I'm not hearing good stuff about it on there. I played the previous one and enjoyed it. Although there is something up with how achievements work, that I don't like. If I got an achievement while offline, it never showed up on my Steam account when I came online. So I would need to get it again while online, to have it show. Not a big deal but it did bother me a bit. I'd have liked to "perfect" the game.

I spent 12h grinding random battles around chocobo ranch on one playthrough on the original.
No way I'd have patience for that now.
Mad isn't it. When we look back on our fond memories of the classics we always seem to forget about this kind of thing lol. I did similar in FF8 and the thought of doing it now is just horrific.
