Final Fantasy VII - "Remake"

I played this for about 30 mins last night....

My word, it looks incredible. The way it seamlessly transitions from gameplay to cinematic and back is incredible.

I don't mind the combat system, I would prefer turn based but if I'm being honest I'm here for the story and seeing what they've done with it.

Pre-ordered this morning and booked the day off.

Now I have to 100% the original before it's released. I've only just left coata-del-sol. It will be tight (although I'll be cheating all the way).

Just the day? ;)

I started the original on the switch a while ago, i have just got to the very start of disc 2. My aim was to complete it before the remake but im making my way through Days Gone and Tokyo Mirage Sessions

What's it like on the switch? I'm so tempted.

I've just realised. It's Good Friday so I'll have the Friday and Monday to play it anyway. I hope this won't mess up the post though??

So what did your boss say when you booked off a bank holiday? Did you have to go back and say doh... :p

Thanks. Hopefully the weather is nice outside so i can hold out until more news, PS5 is out, or can go 2nd hand PS4. Just can't justify the cost right now for part of a game. But still am hyped despite some niggles people mention.

Demo was kinda awful. If I wasn't going to walk away just on the principle of the sales model alone, then the story changes are enough regardless. I don't know why I am surprised, they were bound to simplify and open up early on for the new gen of short attention spanned gamers, but whatever. Good one SquareEnix..
Now I think i'll go play the original.

I personally really enjoyed it, I played the original only once with my dad so it brought back a lot of memories. I'm not too fussed about the combat, it took a bit getting used too but overall. I pre-ordered it after finishing the demo a couple of times.

Played it 3 times. Getting used to new controls. I think I will be fine playing it on normal now.

Played the demo. It's okay, don't like any of the battle systems I miss the true turn based system. I don't like the speed of battles as they are you can't plan anymore.
I don't think I'm going to be getting it though, original is still a better overall experience.
The Voice acting is terrible as well, what's with the constant, "urg" "argh" it sounds silly.
