*** Final Fantasy XIII ***

Just finished the main storyline :) now off to do some CP farming then the side quests etc :)

Does anyone have any tips on where to begin? right now im CP farming the bahemoth king and bogdog in the video above.

should I do quests first? any particular items I should pick up first?

Oh, right, that's good to know. I've been killing the two non-chield that are stationary at the area where mission 63 is (one has 3 smaller monsters with it), I'm guessing those are the ones that you're referring too as the stationary ones. I'm also going after the wandering one that is not far away from that area, I presume that's one of the harder ones.

Any idea what type the one in Eden is? thinking of going there to farm, I heard you can respawn that one by running away and coming back, unlike the Steppes whereby I have to keep going back to the main menu and loading back in.

The one at Eden is an Adamantoise. I found it quicker to save/reload the game each time you kill it.

Do the first 14 missions as this will give you access to the Chocobo.

Hmmm, I seem to have hit a total wall after 25 hours. Three nights at it and I cannot beat Barthandalus #1 after ten attempts. I cant get him down below about 50% before he casts Doom and thats your lot.

I gave up on the strategy in the guide, that tells you to just heal whilst waiting for the big bomb to hit your Sentinel. So I use Diversity and Bully to build him up, then when he is loading up Destrudo hit him with RAV-RAV-COM and then switch to Combat clinic at the last moment.

Maybe I should have done some farming or something but I just cannot put enough damage on him. This is what they call an exponential difficulty curve I think :-(

If you hit him enough while he's charging Destrudo it will make him recoil and it will do a serious amount less damage.

Before you go into the battle try pressing L1 and using shrouds to buff your party.

is there a way to display the map quickly?? while doing missions i frequently check the map for the star and its annoying to keep going into menu and selecting map.

holy **** i just died a little inside

feel free to laugh at this, I just realised i've had my battle speed set to "slow" since chapter 4......

LOL all this time and you haven't realised there is a button to quickly bring the map up? What have you been using, a keyboard? :p

I didn't know the quick map button for ages either ._.

On a different note... I've finally completed the game, after owning it for 5 months :D:p:p:p

Chapter 13 is one of the better ones, love the area design. Excellent final bosses as well.

after completing the game does anyone know the best way to get GIL?

I'm really struggling to find funds to upgrade weapons and accessories.

Gil is a far more precious commodity compared to CP from my brief post-game adventures, I don't even want to fathom buying the Traphezdon (sp) to max out a weapon.

From what I gather, killing the Adamantoises should be the goldmine, I'd probably just focus on finding a decent strategy to beat them and training in the Crystarium until you aren't getting battered by them the moment you enter battle. I don't see much point faffing around in lower money battles gaining mediocre CP when you could rattle a few quick upgrades in the Crystarium through and then attack a cashcow indefinitely.

As I said, I'm not at that stage yet, I've just had a bit of fun on the Chocobos and my weapons are beating the Marks that I'm going after, but that is my plan as it stands when the going gets tough and I need some weapons to pack a much bigger punch.

I'd say that most efficient way to get gil is to farm adamantoise/adamantortoise, best for gil simply because not only the platinum ingot but the rare 1% drop of trapezohedron saving you a large amount of gil.
