About time you got round to this T, that 900D must have had an inch of dust on it. :p
Sorry to hear you`re having a few problems but I`m sure you`ll get it sorted.
Look forward to seeing the rest of build, will be keeping an eye on this thread.
Sorry, can`t offer any advice, as I know bugger all about watercooling.:D

Hi G, am getting there slowly took all my options on board and slept on em last night should plough through it today :)

Liking it so far Tony.
Looks like a few teething issues so far but ive a feeling this is going to look just great!!

Cheers Chris am on me way, course you could have popped over to lend a hand :D Just kidding but if you do drop by your welcome to have a butchers!

Around 3-3.5 will be more then enough with serial D5's, I had a pair in serial both set at 5 pushing a monster of a loop, my loop was filled and bled inside 15 mins, emptied a 450ml res in a couple of seconds, massive amount of pressure/flow :D

I had res>pump>pump>GPU>GPU>CPU>MB>360>1080>280>260>res. Single D5 couldn't cope, a pair of them ate it for breakfast :)

Thanks for that Paul, good grief man that was a heck of a loop definitely getting your monies worth out of the d5's there :)

Nice work MrT, keep it up :)

Morning Paul cheers for that hope you and yours are keeping well and the neck has cleared up :)

Hi Tony
Bit confused with the placement of the RES and Pump(s).
Are you going to place the RES right on top of the Pump Top?

In your RES, ;
Outlet going to be from one of the ports on the bottom pom cap and inlet going to be from one of the side ports of the bottom pom cap?

If so, I would remove the crystal tube from the outlet of the RES.
It would make the draining much easier!
Also, don't over tighten the RES, I have heard some stories about RES cracking(made me check my loop :))

When I first saw 900D case, I thought that will fit 2 x 480 RADs in the bottom compartment and PSU can go in the Top!
This may require some modding to fix the PSU and partitioning to hide it(may be using plexi?) ;)

Morning S, aye that's the plan with the loop.

Hey wait a minute .... I see what you did there that sounds like a good idea keep me upto date with a few sketches/pics when you get cracking !!

Ok who's the numbnut that said this would be finished for Saturday night??? ... oh wait :o:o:o :D

Seemed like trial after trial as if I was never meant to do this build but its all done n dusted for now.

The original loop plan went to pot when I realised the quad would not fit the way I wanted in the roof .

The only thing I have not done very well is the cable management as I am going to get a new modular thingummywhatsit this thermaltake 1500w in olive green was just begging to be covered in fablon :)

Overall did I set out to do what I wanted? Yup its a clean and tidy build an improvement over my last one not altogether sure it was worth the £3040 spent on it, and some of those parts were from members market so heck only knows what it would have cost all new.

The journey is the biggest part for me and now I am largely done feel a bit deflated ..... off too members market to start again probably.

The photos are really bad am sorry I was using my phone I will say they do not do it justice its smart.

Thank you Mr Biffa sah, I know what you mean am off to town to get a decent camera to try and do it justice.

Its already crunching till I can get a second machine up and running have neglected seti for far too long and will start doing the news in a week or so.

Will do a clean windows install later, stick a lightrope in there and start shopping for a good modular psu ..... which will give me the perfect excuse (a spare psu) to build a dedicated crunching rig and keep this one for games and poking about with.

:)

Looking good sir

Awesome! I was looking forward to this one :P How are you planning to get that bottom-front fan in there with the 420mm rad in the basement?
That loop is very similar to how mine is going to go (minus the extra 780) :)

Thanks chaps much appreciated.

Allthough I am fairly happy with it as is once the modular psu is installed then I can do the cable tidying bits.

Would have liked to go with Mr Biffas suggestion of raising the pumps to mid-level but hmmm .... yup I might just do that fill the window up a bit :)

Thanks Mark :)

I used a dual d5 top that comes with anti-vibration gaskets so its literally sat on the bottom of the case.

If I had bought an x3 res with a small link it could screw into the link directly attached to the block eliminating the need to set it up like I did. As others have said it would probably look better if the pump top/res was raised to mid-level in the case with the aid of a small metal plate for support.
The handy thing with the pump top is it is able to fit in a 5" drive bay depending on how you arrange your loop.

I took a trip into town to look for a camera to take some decent photo's but could not see anything to fit my requirements, I did not want to spend more than £100-£150 and even the second hand stores were all out of sony af100 which a friend recommended, so am stuck with a camera phone at the minute.

Hi Mark

Sorry again for the quality of that pic have lightened it up to try and show the D5 pump itself is attached to the block uptop the casing at the bottom is just for anti-vibration and is attached by rubberised screws.

Have a scout through the watercooling section you should find something you need, if its something you know a supplier like Ek does but its not listed stick a note in the customer service section.

Ah it does :) So whats your ETA to completion now?

Well the hardest part is done, but I might have a tinker with the loop it performs great but just not happy with the layout. Probably pull the loop to bits Monday for a re-hash and hopefully will have scraped up the money needed for a modular psu to set it all off.

*changes trust name to something rude to upset the balance* :p

Coming along nicely tony :)

There's allways one!!! Evening Paul :D

Need more pics T!

Aye have spotted a decent one on members market fingers crossed then I will be able to do some decent shots, should have bought one long before now thinking of all the hardware I have had through my hands but meh I will get there in the next week or so. :D

very effective, its the lazy people like me who can't be bothered to do that kind of thing :P

I used to be the same way, whap it in and switch on but seriously next time you look at your gubbins and imagine what a bit of paint/fablon etc can do in the right doseage it could transform a bog standard build into something a bit special .... go try it but grab yourself a turkey roasting tin for £1 from the pound shop so you don't get the paint everywhere :)

Have bought a camera from members market should be here Tuesday/Wednesday so can get some decent shots done :)

Got camera, its worse than compooper to try and understand. Will take some proper pics tomorrow and Saturday pulling loop apart just not happy with layout.
Performs well though cpu 4.7 100% load 60 degrees, gpus 941core 97% load 41 degrees ..... got to work on that cpu mind :(

Am going on the hunt for all orange cables over the weekend ..... 'ere ang about .....
"that nest" in the right hands could pass for modern art my good sir :D:D

Oh blinking eck I need to get psu this weekend too .... goodbye spare monies for a few weeks .... hof to wanted section I go

Excellent build so far mate. I noticed that you've got 3 fans above and below the radiators. What's the reasoning behind this? Does this an able you to run them slower and quieter with the same flow rate?

Had a change around and have 4 either side, aye that's the theory you can lessen the load/noise and get better results :)

T, did ya get my reply to your trust message dude?

I did D, unfortunately I got a bit restless and decided to have a change of gpu's ..... plus this so called "Gigabyte Orange" has turned out n out pink, I know its funny but at £15 a litre am not going to let this one go am hopping mad ... see below

Get in touch with Mike at mayhem (search on here for him) he will send you some dyes to sort it out. If not let me know and I will. I had the same problem. It's a problem with a batch of the coolant unfortunately.

Morning David :)

Am not so bright today can you point me to the mayhems chappy?

I did get a decent camera to take some better quality pics but ..... also decided to upgrade the cpu to a 3930k, change the loop order and ditched my 780's in favour of 7990s. So will be doing more of a Re-Build log in the very near future once I can get this Gigabyte Pink sorted :)
