Probably won't get a more precise time
From the isp
Not sure if the openreach engineer might
Make contact to give a more precise time though

As for you must clear space for them to work
I am pretty sure there's something
In their guidelines if a customer is disabled
You can't be insisting they pick up and move stuff
I can just about manage to move 6kg of cat (x 2 of them)out their way lol
Other than that they're on their own

Every day, I've been looking at the Openreach fibre checker.

This morning, it said this.

I got straight on the blower to PlusNet and at 11:13 I had confirmation of my new 900/115 contract. It's being installed on the 10th June some time between 08:00 and 13:00.

At 11:23 I had an email from Openreach telling me that FTTP is now available in my area! I was already signed up

Be interesting to see who gets connected first :D
Do I win? ;)

Any of you guys had openreach turn up
Relatively late in the day?
4.45pm and starting to feel like I am going
To get mugged off
But got no idea how late they work
Doing home fttp installations
My neighbours install didn’t start until around 4:30pm. I wouldn’t be concerned. (yet)
If it's MJ Quinn, they kind of turn up when they feel like it (mine was supposed to be 1-6pm, turned up 11:15am)

The later they turn up
Probably the less likely they will situate
The ont where I would prefer it
Guess if they're not here by 6pm I am not getting
Fttp and will have to phone plusnet
And see what went wrong
Openreach have constantly contacted me
And I confirmed today as the date don't know how
Many times with them

Well openreach mugged me off
Looks like some of you might get fttp
Sooner than me after all

Just phoned plusnet
Couldn't fault their advisor
He walked me through how it all works
And the engineer hasn't signed it off
Or left any note as to why they didn't attend
Or contact me at all
So he's escalated it asking for an explanation

Must admit am ###### off
More about the lack of contact than anything
If something comes up and can't attend the job
Just takes a text or email to let customer know

But it's not the end of the world
Waited all these years for fttp to get here
Few more days or even weeks won't really matter

Virgin Media dug up my road and installed their fibre over a month ago, I still get this on their website:

Wouldnt be so bad but I'm out of contract with Plusnet and currently paying £59 a month for 50Mbps..

Missed appointments are fairly common with Openreach. Engineers turning up without an appointment is also fairly common.

I've had the unfortunate pleasure of dealing with Openreach for nearly 20 years and they're generally ok but can be dreadful at times. At least you're not having to deal with Telecom Italia though.

Oh well
Not much I can do about it
At least when they do finally appear
I will use the no show as a way to convince them
To put the ont on other side of the room
As some sort of compensation

At least still have the Internet
Wasn't sure how that part worked
But seems they don't need to end my standard fibre
Before enabling fttp

A missed appointment isn't going to get you any special treatment plus the chances of the missed appointment being the fault of the engineer that gets assigned the install is slim. If you're wanting something a little above and beyond then just ask the engineer nicely, they're generally reasonable. A cup of tea and a biscuit can't do any harm.

Once the FTTP is installed and active that'll trigger the cease on your VDSL.

Yeah already had the tea/coffee ,biscuits etc plan
Ready for today lol
I may have accidentally eaten a few of them now

Can't fault the plusnet guy
within 15 minutes of him escalating it
Already had a half hearted the engineer was double booked,
Blah,blah apology from openreach
And job still shows as live
So engineer finishes at 8pm
And will submit all the days job notes in one go by the look of things
Plusnet guys already asking for one of their reserved slots
They keep for expedited jobs
Since currently 2 weeks waiting time for engineer
