Firewatch

As for the game itself it certainly isn't for everyone but I don't think it pretends to be anything that it's not. It's very much a story driven piece with stellar audio dialogue, under 6 hours of game play and not an awful lot of replayability. You could watch the first half hour of game play on YouTube and know if it's something for you.

Im not even sure of the full context of the conversation regarding the monetary differences. Nor do i care. I only popped on to drop my opinion of the game and saw a post regarding the money and added my opinion of that ^^ Nothing more.

This was the 80% of the reason i continued playing ^^ Along with that little hint of interest of what's going on.

To be fair, the whole "Pay a decent price for your games" vs "Gimmie all your game deals" debate is getting seriously tired on here at the moment...

Lets get back to talking Firewatch.

A bit of a shame that I'm hearing it's only a few hours long - Still excited to pick this up. The dialogue I've seen in gameplay videos is pretty funny :D

Someone post some sexy screenshots :D
 
Oh the grey keysite thread thing? I thought there was another Firewatch thread somewhere I'd missed.

@ThundyCat again: Some guidance on which thread I should be using would help, rather than just deleting posts and saying "use other thread!". And that thread not then being locked would also help :p. Just saying...

Back to Firewatch, I will take a note of this and grab it the next time I find myself bored or on my own one weekend. Anyone played this through Steam Link yet? How did it perform.

Steam Link and Controller work well - played it exclusively this way so far
 
The devs emailed me a save file that fixed my problem. I finished it off when I got home.

Amazing beginning, great dialogue as I went through the game, scenery got abit boring going through the same locations over and over.
Terrible ending.
 
Stunning. Excellent piece of work.

Enjoyed it immensely, fantastic story telling, dialogue (voice acting), excellent visuals, solid story, and a great ending.

Haha my thoughts exactly :D

I'm so confused with the polarised view on this game (especially with the ending) - Will be checking it out this Friday for myself :p
 
Pre-ordered it off steam for £13, completed it 3 hours later, Loved it, amazing audio throughout, great graphics (although got a little repetitive towards the end).

Biggest disappointment was just the fact that it's so short, the game had me hooked within the first 5 minutes, can't help but feel they missed a trick with this, could have been so much more.

Still, really enjoyed it.

I don't think I would have cared as much if the game was average.

But it was an amazing story that began so well. Then the ending was just so anticlimactic, it was so rushed as well.

Well I have just completed the game and first of all I just want to say its very very short .

Ok the good first.


The Radio conversations you have with D is fantastic.

The Bad :

You get given options to pick what you want to say but the only problem with this does not change the ending in any way ! What is the point in that ?

The ending is well total crap ! you fly away in a helicopter and you don't know what happens to anyone ! the story just ends with not knowing anything , its made me really angry if I am honest because you put this time in to a game and nothing makes any sense at the end.......

I'm not sure why this game is getting good reviews because its a terrible ending.


you also pickup loads of items in the game and again they don;t do anything ? so whats the point in picking up letters and all that crap ? so many things the game lets you do but for no reason at all !
