FIRST BUILD HELP!? - BEST GAMING PC FOR AROUND £2500

Not sure how eager you are to buy the parts, but the MSI X570 Tomahawk wifi should be out early next month. If it comes in at the same price point as the Gigabyte Aorus Elite and Asus TUF then it will be a no brainer.

Hey guys, me again!

The MB and SSD are not in stock and won't be anytime soon.. could you give me some better alternatives by any chance? Ones that are in stock! :)

Thanks a million!

@Lee... sweet. sounds epic. Sounds like it smashes most mb's at this price point. I'll wait for that to come out then... just a recommendation for the SSD if you can guys?!!

Thanks again.

Thanks again.

The Team MP34, Corsair MP510, HP EX920/950, Sabrent Rocket(Not the Q), Adata SX8200 Pro and Toshiba RD500 are all good options. Some of those are not sold on here, so you would have to look for them elsewhere.

As you mention doing video editing, I would avoid the cheaper ones like the Crucial P1 or Intel 660p etc.

Cheers Lee. Probably go for the sabrents. There's the gold 4.0 version of the sorbent rocket - worth the extra price or just got for the normal version?

There is a Post in the MSI X570 Tomahawk thread saying it should be end of May, early June.

Personally I'm waiting as for £220 it should be a decent board.

The ASUS TUF gets a lot of good recommendations along with the Gigabyte Elite. They are both mentioned around the 20min 30 second mark. Buildzoid also has another video recommending the TUF.

Personally, I am waiting for the MSI board to be released.

64GB build. Samsung M2 is a place holder for a Sabrent Rocket. By shopping around you could probably knock £100 off.

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £2,353.58 (includes shipping: £14.70)

Sweet. I might as well wait then if that's the case. Thinking of potentially adding a 4K capable GPU... what would you guys recommend to run with the Tomahawk that won't break the bank?

If you don't need CUDA support then you could switch to a 5700XT like the Gigabyte Gaming OC. There are new gpu's out later this year from both Nvidia and AMD so a 2080 ti isn't a good buy.

This. Having said that though, the Early adopter brigade will of course buy the top tier nvidia 'Ampere' card when its released (because they can ;) ) The cards they have now will be sold on 2nd hand, so there could be a few Nvidia 'Turing' card bargains if you know where to look & are lucky enough.

Good spot sir

That nearly happened to me last year, I bought the PC-011D thinking a big air cpu cooler will fit when they dont, one of its few failings. I was lucky the cooler I did buy did fit (just about) so I lurk on there checking specs like yours. Because; ;)

Ok cool thanks guys... so what would you suggest that I do for now before the new GPUS come out later this year (or waiting till they come out to snap up a bargain on a 2nd hand card)? Shall I bother going for 4K at all until then?

I'm looking to go all out and get the Asus ROG Swift PGU72Q monitor, wise choice?

Also I just got an official email from MSI saying the new Tomahawk is coming early June, no official date though.
