FIRST BUILD HELP!? - BEST GAMING PC FOR AROUND £2500

Hi guys quick question as I’m building this right now... the mobo cpu_pwr placement has an 8 (called cpu_pwr1) and a separate 4 pin header (called cpu_pwr2) do I need to use this second power header or ignore it? Build Hardware is as above.

thanks!
Usually the extra 4 or 8 pin is for extreme overclockers
If not using liquid nitrogen or helium it's not normally needed :)

Thanks gents! Another question... I have an additional 120mm nzxt rgb fan but there doesn’t seem to be an additional rgb control slot on the nzxt control hub in the case? Is there something I’m missing?

Think I’ve sussed it... daisy chain them together through the in and out ports on the fans?? Fan to fan cable is pretty short though.. may have to rearrange the front fans where I’m getting the daisy chain from

Doesn’t reach, its 2cm too short! Tried rotating the front fans to give me extra but still nothing. I need an extension do you know what they’re called and where I can buy one? They say in and out on each end and give rgb to the fans

Thanks..

got a picture of the fan connectors?
if its the rgb connector lot are proprietary
if its just the fan connector then probably a standard fan extension cable

I’ll send a picture of it and the manual.

more importantly... I set it up. Won’t boot :( Fromt panel power light illuminates but when I hit it nothing happens! Help! :)

I had the front panel connectors in the right place but upside down, according to the video the mobo manual send you too (https://youtu.be/DPELIdVNZUI)... now that I’ve followed this video correctly I get no power switch light whatsoever!! What could be going wrong?
is that video for your exact motherboard?
they arent all the same
you cant put the pwr on the wrong way round
positive and negative dont matter with that particular one
its a momentary switch
as long as on the correct 2 pins either way around will work
only way to do it wrong is on wrong pins or put it vertically when should be
horizontal or vice versa

In the manual for the mobo it gives you a QR code on each page that takes you to these YouTube videos showing you how to each thing.. front panel headers for example. So it’s from my exact mobo manual but it may not be the exact one.

Is there anything else it could be or is this the first port of call?

yeah theres other things
but that would be first thing to try
did you try shorting the 2 pins, unlikely the on/off button is faulty
but shorting the pins is quick and easy to do to rule that out anyway

No I haven’t it sounds scary plus I don’t really know how to do it and I’ve been at this all day so going to go into it tomorrow!! How do you do it? Just touch a screwdriver in the plus and minus power pins?

Sussed it!!! Yessss feels so good! Haha

The front panel connector has a splitter on the cable and I had that in wrong!

Pics coming soon but I still need to get this rgb in the rear fan.. then I’ll send them :)

thansk for the help just then..

Potentially last question. I’m getting the message ‘reboot select proper boot device‘ message.

I’m aware that I need to install a setup exe on a flash drive and pop that in but all the other computers in the house are macs. What’s the best way to set this new bad boy up in this case?
