First Look: Unreal Tournament 3 With PhysX

When UT3 is out, it's gonna run like Bioshock :D

thats a thought, with all the water in bioshock maybe they should have used the ppu to get the water effects that pottsey is on about.
then again the amount of water in bioshock is probably too much for the ppu to handle.:p

More likely they would need give away a FREE PPU with every copy of UT3 :p

LOL :o

A few etailers are pointing towards an end of September release for UT3... but that is nothing to go by at all.

I remember when I had an email from that Jersey company saying my order for UT3 had been shipped back in December 2006... cue big excitement and leaping with joy from me... only to get an email saying there had been a mistake and the game is now due for release January 1st 2007  January came and went... and repeat ad nauseum

I've waited forever for UT3, so if I must wait another few months... it doesn't bother me. I just want/hope this game to be awesome when its released with little/no bugs in sight.

If Crysis can do physics that good without the PPU then it's pretty safe to say there is no need for one.

I don't care if Crysis doesn't do real time wind/fluids, whatever it does looks great and I think 99% of people would agree, the 1% being the people who bothered buying a PPU.

The videos We've seen of Crysis to date show its physics to be far more realistic to "anything" that has been showed on a PPU thus far and Crysis doesn't even use a PPU - lol.

PPU = money making joke scheme.

Crysis physics look great no doubt, but have yet to see examples of cloth, soft bodies or geometry reacting under stress (tension / weight / torgue). I'm sure the physics engine is very capable of all this. Ageias biggest downfall is really the lack of supported games. So very few, and so very few are good. The truth of the matter is though, as CPU's and GPU's become more advanced, the PPU will not be needed and many of the calculations can easily be handled with current CPU's.

That’s rubbish I listed a bunch of realistic physic effects missing from Crysis that the PPU does.

The PPU does eveything Crysis does but not the other way around.

It's strange because it (physx) fails to actually present these effects it apparently does in a half-decent game and present it well..

Truth is PhysX had potential but never explored that potential without thinking about just the money they wanted to make. Shame...

Graw 2 doesn't show anything physics wise on the level of Crysis and with Physx GRAW2 explosions etc look more unrealistic.

In fact the standard grenade explosions in GRAW2 are like micro nukes with their shockwave and everything... yeah nice...

Lets see. Foliage and Palm trees that are affected by the force from wind and players movement. Crysis is player movement only, no wind.GRAW 2 explosions are more realistic as wind can blow the parts from the explosions in different directions.

Then there is the cloth simulation for tents and camouflage nets about x100 times better then cloth in Crysis.

Crysis doesn’t show anything physics wise on the level of GRAW 2 :) Everything physics wise Crysis does is in GRAW 2. But there are things in GRAW 2 not in Crysis:)

Is you watched videos of Crysis inc the interviews, you would know there is wind from nature and from Copter blades, that affect debris, not just from Player moving by bushes.

It's been confirmed for november ;)

 I've been following this game forever, can't believe I've missed a proper confirmed date.... care to link to it?

I've heard people speculate about dates, not seen anything confirmed yet though.

I'd love it if I'm wrong though :p
