first time for everything haha!

hmm not looking good. installing few games to try but its crashed twice now (bsod) when Ive been watching a video in media player.

did a clean install, latest drivers etc. hope its not knackered :(

Can anyone help us out

card is a Powercolour 1900xtx

installed 6.3 cat drivers
latest nforce off the nvidia site
6.09 razer copperhead drivers
and the latest audigy 2 zs ones.

windows is fully updated, just got some games on.

it crashes whenever i try to do anything, only game it ran was tiger woods, played 2 holes and it seemed fine.

all my hardware is the same other than the card (used to have 800xt) and it was rock solid, nothing overclocked or anything, never crashed before.

ive done a clean install of windows too.

gutted :(

Ideas include the obvious:

Is it overheating? remove side of case, aim a deskfan at the card and see if that helps. You dont mention your PSU. is that meaty enough?

I got it from ocuk when they had the offers on, hence the nice one on price :)

Ive got a Thermaltake PurePower 680W psu. Side of the case is already off, never have it on.

Its crashed when ive played two wmp vids, when ive tried to load Far Cry and also when I tried to play FEAR.

Seems perfectly fine when using windows.

The only time its actually bluescreened I only caught glimpse of the error but think it was an IRQ not equal. It just froze with far cry and rebooted with no BSOD with FEAR.

Personally I'm thinking that it's a driver issue now, maybe the Audigy or nForce (using Nvidia Firewall?).

Jokester

Edit: I would remove the Audigy ones and re-install the ones that came with the card (I never had any bother with them).

didnt install the nv firewall or the other thing it asks, also didnt install the nvidia sw ide drivers as read they gave loads of grief. (didnt have them installed on previous installs either with no probs)

edit: ill take off the audigy drivers altogether, see if that does anything

edit 2 :):

If it helps, Full spec is:

A64 3500
Asus A8N32-SLi Deluxe
2gig Ballistix pc4000 (not died yet...)
2x74gb Raptors in RAID0 and a couple IDE drives
Audigy 2 ZS
TT 680w psu
Powercolour 1900xtx

Take the audigy out entirely, in the bios, enable o/b sound if needed, and try again. if that cures it try the audigy in a different pci slot. If it still crashes, rty running with only one stick of ram, if it still crashes, try the other stick, but not both at the same time. I've a hunch its the audigy though.

uninstalled the audigy, took out the actual soundcard and played the new crysis vid (which caused it to crash twice last time) and got the following BSOD

page_fault_in_nonpaged_area

sounds more to me like a CPU/Memory problem,
run prime on your system for 24 hours if no errors your good in those departments and your back to square one :/

at least it will rule out a CPU/Memory clash
