how should i have it set up then. should i have two wires connecting to the adapter with nothing else on each one?

really do hope this is the problem :D
With two feeds, connect what you like within reason. If you have spare feeds to use, all the better. If it's a single feed try to remove anything else connected. I doubt it that tbh.

Don't rule your RAM out of the equasion just yet mate , Up until a few weeks ago I had 2Gig of Ballistix but started getting memory errors during the POST & very occasional BSOD's but I threw everything under the sun at it to test the RAM but it woudn't confirm my RAM as failing & it would play 99% of my games for hours on end. This went on for weeks as I couldn't pinpoint the problem but eventually the RAM died & confirmed it once & for all ,Since swapping the RAM I have a 100% stable system again but it took a long time to show it was the problem.

Have you any RAM for test purposes even if it's old stuff that you may need to run on a divider & slack timings it'll take one more thing out of the equasion & maybe prove your GC isn't faulty & a wasted RMA :).

I can probably borrow some memory so will give that a blast too, going to try the psu thing as well but I did initially suspect the memory. Its been replaced once by Crucial so its fairly new although im aware that loads end up failing :(

Cheers for all the help so far :)
