• Competitor rules

Please remember that any mention of competitors, hinting at competitors or offering to provide details of competitors will result in an account suspension. The full rules can be found under the 'Terms and Rules' link in the bottom right corner of your screen. Just don't mention competitors in any way, shape or form and you'll be OK.

first time for everything haha!

IMO it must be a dud graphics card if all drivers do basically the same thing. Its going to be tricky to get people who test RMA to run the tests that are failing; you should be specific about what tests will show the error, dont let them away with just running their default tests.

Did this come from OcUK? I think you have done enough tests to prove its a problem with the graphics card.

Anyone else want to chip in? :)

Yeh I got it from here when they had the offers on.

Ive put the 6.3 drivers on and played FEAR for over an hour, no crashes, ran flawlessly.

Bizarre....

Whats the voltages thing m8, ill do it now (if i can)

Set the meter to V for voltage and plug the black wire in "COMM" and red wire on voltage (there is usually another plug for high amp which u wont be using). Then u find a spare molex plug, it has four wires, yellow, black, black, red. Yellow is 12v and to check the 12v rail of your PSU, connect red lead of meter to yellow 12v, and black lead of meter to a black (ground) of molex.

If you wanted to check 5v do the same except put the red meter lead on the red molex plug. Voltage range should be set to 20v, meter can read anything below this setting. Setting 1v on meter to read 12v may damage the meter.

Crystal? :)

Still not crashed again. Played all the way through the Chronicles of Riddick and was fine. Looked ace too in 1920x1200 with all settings on max :D

Great game

Still not out the water by the look of things :(

PC just shut down whilst playing Oblivion. So I guess the problem is still here somewhere.

ajgoodfellow - I downloaded MBM5 but not exactly sure what im doing with it, just loads of stuff that doesnt really make much sense. Also when configuring it initially my motherboard wasnt listed, not sure if this is a problem?

Hi!

If you click on "High/Low" on the menu on the left hand side it will show a page listing your read voltages for each sensor - +5V, +12V, etc

If your motherboard isn't supported though it might not read the voltages correctly

I'd try downloading the monitoring software from your motherboard manufacturer's website as this will also give your voltage readings

Nah, it won't, don't worry. HV would. It'll just flash ----, means its out of range. You forgot to tell them to select the DC range, which is +-, not the AC which has a ~. And you can damage your power supply if you leave it connected in continuity or current (A) reading.

MBM5 wouldnt give me any readings (prob me doing something wrong) so I got the Asus Probe II.

Gives the following readings:

Vcore: 1.55v
+3.3: 3.31v
+5: 5.03v
+12: 12.10v

Is that all you need?

The mystery continues. I think its defo a conflict of some kind as ive played Chronicles of Riddick from start to finish with all settings maxed out, good few hours at a time and no problems at all.

Oblivion when I last tried it (although it was working ok) switched my PC off after about 10 mins.

Havent tried any other games since, dont really want to go off Oblivion to see if theres a problem as with it being new it could be something to do with that game.

Will install some others to see if they crash.

Having just a quick glance page_fault_in_nonpaged_area message is due to driver problems.

Its always best to run verifier.exe (just type it in run off the start menu) that will require a reboot once enabled and then you will get a BSOD when problem occurs again but this time the BSOD will tell you what driver caused it. Have to say though your system may well run slower than normal once you have identified the problem just turn verifier off.

Just one other thing to mention in case this does actually make a difference...

My TT PSU, I got it when they basically came out, and the pci-e connectors on it didnt actually fit, something about the standard socket being changed or something, so ive had to buy a convertor and use that on one of the wires that you plug into say a dvd drive. Would that make any difference?
