first time for everything haha!

As your mobo is A8N32, I suggest you try to downgrade your bios to a lower version if you're running the latest. A lot of people have problems with the latest bios. Sounds like the problem I had, whenever I enter ATI display properties 3D/OpenGL Windows rebooted, that was with CAT 6.3, tried 6.2 it helped a bit but not much. At the end I had to reinstall Windows and it's worked flawless since. Before concluding it's your memory, PSU, voltage, card is faulty ... try to reinstall Windows on a different drive/partition and see what happens. I do think it's the mobo bios that's causing you trouble.

Possible light at the end of the tunnel here....

Ive done another clean install of XP but this time with just sp2 and the 1.1 .net. No other updates. Ive then put on the latest AMD Nforce from the nvidia site and the Cat 6.2 drivers.

Nothing else at all is on the PC.

Just had Riddick on for 15 mins, no problems at all.

Not got my soundcard in or installed the Razer drivers. Hard to say what the problem is really, going to try a couple other games and see what gives :D

Cheers bud :)

FEAR stress test went through fine no problems, played Far Cry and it was fine for a bit but then exited to the desktop, feeling thats a Far Cry issue though. Riddick works spot on, played 15 mins of it.

So far so good...

I would try cat 5.12 with control panel, use drivercleaner; worth a shot. Sometimes a certain driver revision just doesn't like your card.

You have already looked at psu, memory; non overclocked cpu should be ok, so I would try this next (well actually I would have tried it first cause its easier to check than memtest).

Try prime95 cause memtest doesnt always give an error if its more memory subsystem/cpu related.

Are u running any ATItool or ATItraytools? The last issue I had was due to ATItool but it was a lag issue caused by 100% cpu utilization when using dynamic fan settings.

Got one of these BSOD while installing Call of Duty 2:

0x0000004E: PFN_LIST_CORRUPT
(found this info)
This indicates that the memory management Page File Number list is corrupted. Can be caused by corrupt physical RAM, or by drivers passing bad memory descriptor lists.

Im convinced the card is fine to be honest, theres just something else playing up.

Try some windows based stability programs like prime95. I would be looking at either the ram or graphics card which could need replacement.

Do u have a multimeter to check the PSU rails, 12v, 5v ect under load? Would be more scientific than eliminating the psu as a possible source of instability rather than brand.

I thought Asus would be more stable with different bios revisions unlike DFI, if this isnt the case u could try swapping the ram into another slot.

Unlucky for buying a top card only to be plagued with probs.

Right, got prime95 and did clicked on torture test. Wasnt sure if you need to set anything up so i literally didnt do anything once installed other than click that. Theres loads of nonsense in the window but when i stopped the test this morning it says this:

Torture Test ran 8 hours, 14 minutes - 0 errors, 0 warnings.
Execution halted.

Does that mean my RAM/CPU is ok? Or have I not done it right

Played FEAR and moved around etc, seemed ok. Exited the game and got an IRQ NOT EQUAL bsod :(

Something still not definately right it seems.

Think ill give 3d mark 06 a go see if it crashes during that.

The TT 680w Spec says its got 52A for 12v. If you do the math it's more like 36A, should be more than enough.

It depends what version of the PSU he has. The ATX2.01 has different amp ratings compared to the ATX2.2.

Can you read off the ampage ratings for the 12v rails on the side of your PSU m8?

You've done mem test and run prime '95 that would suggest your ram is ok (even with it being ballastix and likely to fair sooner or later).

Does 3dmark run flawlessly? I would do prime + 3dmark this would eliminate the PSU from the source of problems.

If its possible you could try the card in another PC.

All these BSOD Id be inclind to say that its not just a software incompatability. A crash to desktop is all Id expect normally.

Ok, looking at the spec of the older version gives about 28A for the 12v. Still plenty.
