Unsure yet - their process can take 6 weeks.. so I have time atm :D (and approval from the mrs for some cheap trips).

The wall is still closed at the moment. I have my cheapy beach caster :D (€35 :D)

Sounds good - will need to check dates, I should get more concrete dates sometime in the next week or so.

The old focus passed it's MOT so I don't have to spend too much time running around attempting to get it fixed (and costing money!).

Been eyeing up a couple of rods... but spending more on the anti-algae for the pond than the rod costs!

The rods on my mind at the moment are..
* DAM EGI rod - it's unto 35g so lighter than the spinning rod I normally take along - would work from boat and shore.. but the spinning rod would work probably... although the spinning rod I have is 20-50g and it's not too happy with 20g..
* Kenzaki 12/20 boat rod.. 3-piece is stiffer and would do wrecking and inshore boat.. although I have something that fits this range....
* Supercast second hand - realistically my time using something like this would be limited when working.. probably just when I go to france with the father-in-law.

I think in the future I'll have less time for shore work.. so I'll probably stick with boat/spinning orientation.. perhaps a super cast bass would work better ... I don't know - at the moment I don't have the money so not worried about it too much :D

^^
tell Mrs car failed MOT
spend £200 on fishing gear
????
profit

Hehe I wish.. Just got the formal intent to offer, know the details and timescales.

Just put it this way.. they take long enough for me to go fishing - almost to the second holiday :)

the 2nd holiday is now the 3rd holiday, id booked another :D
il email you....

might be best fishing off a harbour wall/pier for squid rather than the shore,
although i seem to remember watching a vid of some people diving by the lifeboat station on the eastern side of Selsey and iirc there was some cuttle fish about...
goes off to youtube to see if i can find it

EDIT: i think it might have been an episode of the BBC program "Coast"

Those two break waters would be a good location.. if there's weed/sand or rough ground then they're usually about as they have somewhere to hide/hunt.

on a large (spring) tide all the rocks that make up the breakwaters are exposed, and inbetween the breakwaters its quite a clean sandy bottom,
to my knowlegde the ground doesnt get rough untill you get round to the eastern side of Selsey Bill

I've got a Kenzaki 20/30 3 piece, Its an awesome rod. Will take big rays and Congers in a strong tide no problem. Its really light and nice to handle. Picked mine up from Poindexters in Southampton for £80. I've got another Diawa Proteus 12/20 which is great fun to use, the only issue I found with that is it struggles when you got over 16oz of lead.

There's a Kenzaki new model now with a kind of burnt orange colour on it, its look pretty nice

Ok, upon looking at the number and variety of lures.. I'll stick with the one I have at the mo.

Looks like it's warming up a little.. reports of mackerel being caught in Brighton too..

Ordered my flotation suit too.. although hot for summer, in winter/sprint/autumn they're good for both shore rock marks and boat trips :)

Yup.. considering the 12/20 3 piece (being stiffer than the 2pc). Although I just had to pay for a new apple laptop battery to fix the MBP (well apple is forking out for the graphics chip they cool incorrectly). May be later in the year for the 12/20. I have a few rods at the moment that cover 6-12, 20 (well 12-20 very old old ug stick), 5-10oz casting uptide (20-30) and a 50lb (30-50lb).

For now.. I think the rods will have to wait - thanks to apple.

Sorry still skimping on the phone... only have call and texts..

18" and 1lb 9.5oz.

Also had numerous whiting and one smallish dogfish that wasn't hooked but was sucking on some mackerel and dropped off.
