Fishing - Anybody doing any ?

My koi have never stopped, they have been feeding since around end of Feb.
Greedy ******* they are.

I am having trouble with a heron at the moment, it dragged a decent sized one out and left it for dead - too big for it to eat.
It had speared it straight in the top of the head - probably a £200 fish :-(

Has anyone got an idea of where I can by custom rod tube protectors? There is no way in hell I'm paying £15-£30 for rod tube protectors! I already have two but they a bit big and want to slim down stuff as I'm going to get a new 4 tube holdall and carryall next week.

I need about
-- 2x lengths of 75 inches length (For float rod and feeder rod), tube internal needs to be about 5cm because of the rod eyes)

Doesn't even have to have caps, I can just use tape for one end and the other end can be open.

You can get drain pipe in all sort of diameters, just cut one to length = very cheap alternative and light

I found some. I have my new rod bag and carryall, pole roller and bank sticks coming next week. Got some slim pipe ready to go into the new rod bag. Got a set of NGT bite alarms as well for when I go out carp fishing. I am not 100% sure if I'm going out this weekend but possibly Sunday.

Blown a gail, very windy.

I’m off out to the beach today, high tides at 12.30 lug and rag waiting at the tackle shop, bbq and sausages in the boot, shame it’s meant to be a bit windy later hopefully no weed.

Shouldn't be smoking that stuff at the beach. You will get caught. :D

I can't wait to go out next, was going to go out this weekend but the wind is a little strong and it has been raining on the odd hour.

I met a mate at a pond complex at 1.30pm yesterday, sign outside saying it was 'full'.
Went on to investigate, only every 2nd peg was used to ensure 'social distancing' - not too sure why as all of the pegs were 8-10m apart anyway lol.
Travelled a few miles to another pond complex, same there but we managed to jump on the last 2 pegs......furthest walk with all of our gear (obviously lol).
Started fishing at 3pm and finished at 8pm (complex closes 8.30pm).
Had a total of 21 carp, ranging from 3lb to 6lb.
Snapped off 7 times, my own fault as I was only using 4lb hooklength, as any heavier the bites stopped.
Enjoyed getting out for my 2nd time this season.....roll on next Saturday :-)

A mate took a charter out today - just him, £250, with lots of tope, bream etc.. photos where good!

I have a new fish pond to finance so the fishing can wait.
