you can have xx chromosome and have a male body (when the body was ment to be female)

there are several reasons this can happen one is lack of (some hormone) the other is a over overrestiance to that hormone...

There is no "mental issue" to resolve.
Adults aren't conned or pressured by their doctors or parents into believing there is a mismatch between their physical gender and identity; they simply realise it, in the same way that homosexuals realise they fancy members of the same sex. Brain chemistry plays a critical role in the shaping of a person's personality and you can't change how a person is wired (although that hasn't stopped Christian nutters trying to shame or medicate people into suppressing their nature).

I know nothing about this (I don't have children, etc) but can a five year old really know what they are / what they want at such a young age?
Surely they've not experienced much in life and aren't even able to understand or articulate what they feel?

I rage because the kid sounds crazy, his parents should force him to wear boy clothes, before the school bullies get to him.
It's got nothing to do with feeling threatened, I just think the kid needs to be set straight (no pun intended) before he gets the crap beaten out of him, years of therapy before finally shelling for a sex change

Nurture taking over nature IMO, kid was allowed to do what he wanted and has got away with it. For those saying its ok, would your parents of let you of done this sort of thing? Im pretty sure they would have cracked you over the head and got on with life...

people can be pretty stupid in this day and age its quite possible...! and NHS doctors are so scared at not being PC enough they jsut say he has X disorder to cover themselves...
