Flooded car

What a shame. :/ I'm sure CAT A had to be crushed. But you could re-use parts off a CAT B car, as long as it's not returned to the road?

Gutted :(
According to the RAC:
Category B: body shell should be crushed. Signifies extensive damage, although some parts are salvageable. Should never re-appear on road

Id have a chat with them and see how they are going to payout for the mods.
IF they won't payout a proper amount for the mods could you ask for them to be removed from the car?

I just spoke to them and the mods they have asked for proof of price etc and I have been told these are covered so I am hoping they give a % according to the mileage on them etc.

They wont even let me keep the car with me telling them it will be in a garage and used as a track car :(

I guess they can't take the risk once it's recorded. You'll have to take it as a loss in that sense mate. Definitely give them the prices of the mods and see what's what.

Absolutely gutted for you mate :(

hope you don't end up too far out of pocket and are able to get a replacement and get it set up the way you want as quickly and painlessly as possible. :(

I think to get one with such low mileage and in the condition mine is in I have looked online and a car is 22.5 and then there is the mods etx so would look at least £27500 but I very much doubt it will be anywhere near that amount

Gutted for you lush looking car, what with the smax issues...

Makes you think though, ive forded water that deep without a doubt... well I was doubting.. clearly shouldnt have done that!

A phone call today and I have been told its been passed to the head engineer to value as the phone guys/girls are not to sure because of the high value and mods on the car.

I have been told they expect his answer Monday at the earliest and the annoying thing is that I don't get a hire car as that's only provided if there was an accident regardless of fault :(

Aww dude :( a delay but it sounds like a positive one tbh.
how long had the mods been on?

What happens if they cant/wont settle on an acceptable price?
At the end of the day oiif you can prove to them the ones with similar miles on for x amount then x amount on top for the mods?

unlike when I killed my ibiza... they were comparing it to a moon mile yellow one :(

Mods where on for 24 months for suspension , 11 months on exhaust , induction kit and remap. All of them covered less than 5000 miles as I only managed to do 1500 miles in the last 12 months due to my stroke and brain operation.

These are around at the moment
2008 - £16999 - standard with double the mileage and has been forsale for a long time and the pai'nt work is not the best
2008 - £17'250 - again mileage is 75% more than mine and is only that price as the owner was made redundant and I think its sold
2008 - £22'990 - RS with 7000 less than mine with exhaust and induction kit
2009 - £22'950 - standard with 7000 miles more than mine and is only a GS not a GSR
2011 - £22'500 - standard with 5000 miles less than mine and the same colour where as all others are different
2011/12 with 10000 less miles same colour are at £29/30'000

Bloomin heck. I think I need to sell my Evo X if they're going for that money. My Evo X 08 plate I picked up for £15k. What mileage was your car on, as it sounds like yours was low mileage?

Is yours anything other than a 360 ?

Mine is currently sitting (in a puddle of water lol) on just over 20'000

Ah, both of those would explain it. 20,000 is really low mileage, so you'll be hard pushed to find something on those miles. Didn't realise yours was the 360 - I was guessing maybe the 330. Really surprised to hear it's a cat B due to water damage - I always thought CatB was significant structural damage.

Must be heart-breaking for you.

Going to put my tin foil hat on here and say maby the insurance is saying it's cat b so they can can sell it themselves for more money.

It has already been recorded as cat B and from a bit of googling looks like a cat B can only be sold to a registered dismantler. Can't imagine they would be able to sell it on for that much and explains why they won't sell back to OP even for a track car.

It has to be sold for salvage and I have the details of where it is going, Thing that's ****ed me off is I have already had emails asking where it is going as people want to go and strip it for bits and it hasn't even left my house yet :(

The loader is a few roads over and my baby is next to be picked up
